Last season "implosion" was due to injuries, and Bent leaving us out of the blue. How can you see yourselves pushing on? You have lost your best players from last season, and have replaced them with complete unknowns. We have a hell of lot more reasons to be positive on the upcoming season than you lot do.
Why oh why in gods bloody name would Coloccini cut short his current 2 years remaining here on £80,000 a week, to move to Valencia for HALF the money? I've never heard something so ridiculous in all my life. Correctamundo. Cabaye finally has everything Nolan didn't. Whether he brings goals as well or not, he's fortified the midfield far more than Nolan, who didn't have any pace, didn't have much technique and couldn't really pass very well. All he could do well was bag goals. That article though is just absolutely woeful on so many levels. The line "Ba hardly excelled for West Ham last season" is just all anyone needs to read to realise how much of a mong this man is. But hey, another lowly prediction, another person to prove wrong, again. 1). We haven't lost our best players from last season. I'd call Coloccini and Tiote far more important than Carroll and Nolan ever were to be honest. 2). Is your footballing knowledge that **** that you judge a player based on how well he's known? No one cares if they're 'unknown'. In Cabaye for example, we've seen how well he's done at Lille and he's exceeded expectations in pre-season so far with some pinpoint playmaker passing, lethal deadballs and strong tackling. I couldn't care less if no one has ever heard of him before. I'm bloody glad we've got him beside Tiote instead of Nolan to handle the midfield.
IM not insinuating anything. My arguement has always been that they are as predictable as the stock exchange. I am adopting a wait and see approach. It will hurt fi we lose despite us going in as underdogs again. But the S,land favourites tag and the gloating will make it all the more painful for you lot should there be a repeat. "those who fail to learn from mistakes of the past... etc etc"
You said nothing of the sort regarding your 'wait and see approach'. However your feeling of deja vu suggested you think a repeat would happen. May I suggest you make your comments more explicit in the future.
Im getting a feeling of Deja Vu considering the build up to it on your own part. The "6 easy points", "top team in the NE", "lets laugh at the mags" attitude just seems awfully familiar, I said nothing about the actual result
And who would these be? to my knowledge this summer we have only sold Nolan and Routledge, and replaced them with Ben Arfa and Obertan. Didnt realise Routledge was one of our best players Nolans goals will be hard to replace but his overall play wont be missed, HBA will offer less goals but will create ahell of alot more!
Well then I'll repeat- May I suggest you make your comments more explicit in the future. As for the '6 easy points', I don't recall anyone saying this ahead of this season. Top team in the NE (notice the lack speach marks)- so despite SAFC finishing higher than NUFC for the past few seasons, NUFC is obviously the better team. Lets all laugh at the mags- thats right, you aren't allowed to have a laugh at your rivals misfortune, are you?
Ba, Goala, Marveux, Obertan, Jonas, Barton, Cabaye, S Taylor Unlike Sunderland last season we scored goals all over the park, we scored 56 league goals (Carroll 11, Nolan 12) so that 33 from other players.
11 different goal league scorers last season; Kevin Nolan 12 Andy Carroll 11 Shola Ameobi 6 Peter Lovenkrands 6 Leon Best 6 Joey Barton 4 Jonas Gutierrez 3 Steven Taylor 3 Fabricio Coloccini 2 Hatem Ben Arfa 1 Cheick Tiote 1 Own Goals 1
I this is all in your own head mate...There is absolutely no evidence to support this statement, and from what I can make out, with your "Deja Vu" remark it is you who are predicting an easy victory....So stick that in your pipe and smoke it old bean!
Ah but Chappaz, in your question lies the answer, or part of it. Valencia AND Sevilla want Colo, they will give him 40k a week, for FOUR years. His signing on fee will be around the million mark. And he will have bonuses on top, Valencia are in the Champions League this season, they'll be on big incentives. Also, as a Spanish speaker, he will no doubt feel a move back to Spain can benefit his family in the medium term. I ain't seeing he'll go, but the reasons you give won't stop it happening. Your hope is that getting the armband has raised his commitment to the cause, and that he doesn't feel like Joey and Jose about the player sales/lack of reinvestment.
He has two years here on £80,000, but he 'wants' a three year deal at £40k per week, despite just being made captain and despite continually stating that he loves it here? You're not stupid Bruceys Beak. Let's just cut the NUFC/SAFC rivalry for a second and admit that this is a prime example of the utter ****e being spewed out by journalists. Our club and your club have had to deal with crap journalism like this on numerous occasions.
Ba will get 10-15 (if he stays fit), HBA 5-10 and then we have 3 new players Obertan, Marveux and Cabaye to chip in, that replaces the goals lost. We played very one dementional last season due to having players like Carroll and Nolan (play to there strengths) we have added alot more flair and pace to the team this season, so we can chance things up, but we still have Shola and Best if things aint going to plan and need to change style
