Basically weekly wage of 3000 hats, with bonuses for appearances and goals.

    Quite simple.

Shola is as thick as two planks and has no idea how to use Twitter.

Barton on the other hand is the anti-christ and has used social networks to bring about the downfall of Ashley-kind.

Only a two year extention?! Great just great! That'll mean when he's 32 he can just walk away and sign for Barca on a free. <doh>

In fairness we offered contracts this long to Barton and Nolan but they wanted 4/5 years.

I do, and always have, rate Shola. Okay he shouldn't be our 'main' striker but he does a good job. When he gets regular games and isn't injured he plays well and scores. Same with any striker.

Add to the fact that every manager since Sir Bobby has had him in their team at some point shows that he's a good player. Maybe in training he excels?

He's criticised for being lazy but how do we know? Just because he doesn't chase down every ball doesn't mean he's lazy. He could be waiting for the ball to break, or waiting for a a chance to go full pelt when there is a chance to score.

I'm definitely not saying he's brilliant, but he can't be on on that much, was free, is a geordie and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Sammi!

    Cut the hat-man some slack!

There have been plenty times that we've all watched Shola casually saunter his way in the general direction of a free ball that has been flicked on or passed through and an equal number of times that people have excused it by saying 'he isn't that type of player' (the sort of player who trys to score goals presumably). He rarely even puts pressure on a keeper either, allowing him to just knock the ball around his box for a few minutes while we're a goal down.
I like Shola because he seems like a nice lad and clearly likes playing for Newcastle; but as a player, bar the derbys, he is mostly a waste of space and I'd rather use Best or Lovenkrands because they will at least try to chase a ball in the opponents half even if it's in vain.

He's an average top flight striker but with a massive heart and his refreshing passion for his club is why so many of us still like seeing him involved in the matchday squad. :)

I'd sooner have Best over Ameobi but not Lovenkrands. He's not as fast as his was and he needs 3 chances to score.

I know what you're saying and agree with some of it but i can't agree that he's lazy
