Yeah, yeah, yeah... we understand all of that.

Question.

Did this happen because Chelsea really were as dangerous, as you assert they were? Or, was it because LCFC were completely inept and clueless?

You can go with "a mixture of the two," if you want to pussy out of the correct answer.
<ok>

We tried a new formation against them and it partly worked.on the balance of play in the first half. The opening goal had a hint of good fortune, although you couldn't fault the lay-off by Eden Hazard or the finish by Alonso - but if Huth doesn't get the faintest of touches on the initial cross then Wes Morgan probably clears it rather than it reaching Hazard. We were on top from then until half-time-- but as I said, they were very dangerous on the break and the loss of Costa arguably allowed them to play with more fluidity amongst the front 3 of Hazard, Willian and Pedro.

The second goal just after half-time was a deflected shot that left the keeper with no chance. We were then chasing the game and they sucker punched us with the third.

The previous weekend we beat a more3 or less fullstrength Everton side in the cup - and deservedly so. They have since played Man City.

So in summary, we have not turned into a poor side but are a side in transition and I expect our 'first choice' team to look very different going forward, particularly when the 3 lads come back from ACON. Ndidi looks like he will become a fixture as he has been excellent in both the games he has played. As AD notes above, Chelsea are very strong and have strength in depth - losing a game doesn't change that. We lost twice to Arsenal last season yet still won the league. Reading too much on a head to head can leave you looking a dick. Win the league by 10 clear points and the fact that you lost to a particular team is irrelevant - as history now shows.

Woah! Easy, big fella!

All I did was ask a question!

No need to lose the plot with me, Nige!

For my part, I will say at the moment we are the best team in the league. 5 weeks ago we were not and in 5 weeks time we may not. I think Chelsea are too strong to be caught by any of us. I like our chances of second, but City/Utd/Liverpool and Arsenal will all do so as well. I can only see it being really close between those teams. Unless our golden moment lasts another couple of months....

You're not the best team in the league at the moment for **** sake, we went through this last season.

It's an opinion and on current form I think we are.

On current form Chelsea are, seeing as they're top of the table and have won like 15 of the last 16 games or whatever it is.

Spurs fans are so desperate to think they're first at something when actually they're in the shadows and have been for their entire existence.

Pochettino hasn't even got half of that to spend and can easily still finish above both of them...

That worries me, slightly, as I can both of those sneaky bastard clubs making a real player for Poch.

Expect the United tapping-up machines in Murdoch's employ to grind into action well before the end of this season.

Ok, no problem if you don;'t agree. I think 15/16 games is a stretch for "current". I did say that 5 games ago we weren't so clearly I was think a lot more short term. And we did beat them. But I get it if people think Chelsea are playing better, I have also said I think they'll win the league so ergo that would make them the best team over the season (as you were last season). It's just we have been superb for a good few weeks now. And I am thrilled to watch them play.

Football 'form' is usually the last 6 games, and Trotterham are looking good, but they've just lost their best defender. How they cope with that will go a long way to showing whether they can really challenge. I can see them laying the Arsenal ghost to rest this season, if they cope without Vertonghen
