Oh dear this window is going to be a another crap one isn't it?

We are getting picked apart now as the players we have got such as Brady and Olsson can see we are not going up this season. We are going to find it hard to attract the right kind of players.

As for, what's the point of Brady going to Sunderland.

The average Championship player earns £370k per annum, the average PL player earns £1.7m per annum. There's your answer. Even in the short term it's worth it for the players. They are just mercenaries these days.

Adequately explains why he moved from one relegated Club, Hull, to us, who were likely to go down and did, and he now moves to another Club who are fairly certain to be relegated.

Christ, I sincerely hope so!
I'd suggest we could use a DM, LB and CB as soon as is realistically possible.
Which positions do you propose need attention, then?

Quite frankly the positions that need attention, if we want to make a concerted attempt to get out of this division, AND make a serious go of actually staying in the Premier League, are the lot, from GK to striker - and the saddest thing is, I´m not joking. We could, and probably should, bring in at least one player in every position, while getting rid of at least one, too.

Of course they are, and wouldn´t you be, if you were in their position. Don´t blame them, blame Murdoch, he´s the one who started the ball rolling (quite literally in fact).

I'm not blaming them.

Just seeking to explain why even short term deals are attractive to players who will probably end up in the Championship next season.

Any notion of loyalty is pretty much dead these days.

In fairness to the players, they are not the only ones guilty of it in football. Clubs are no more loyal to the managers they sack, the fans they fleece or the players they move on. Its all about the money. But that is the whole of society, short termism is king. Jobs for life are rare, customer loyalty is growing rare too, there is just so much choice. We all must adapt to keep up, this is where Delia et al fail miserably and we will as a club get left behind.

Bah!

Flexible? Open minded? Balanced? Fair minded? Rather strange that the last time our paths crossed you were accusing me of never stating what my opinion was as to whether AN should go or stay. I suggest you read again my post 1496 on the 'How Long Do We Give Him' thread which with the post on this thread after the Rotherham game brings you right up to date with the thoughts of your flexible friend. Should I change my mind again rest assured I will make certain you are the first to know. Right now Bar Magnan has a new waitress for me to look at and I think I fancy her even more than the regular waitress . Just shows how opinions can change

I don't disagree much with the post you suggested I re-read, indeed it isn't that far off what I would do. My issue is that when I changed my mind after the Birmingham result having both supported and sat on the fence about AN for many months. You accused me and others who changed their mind of a knee jerk reaction and acting irrationally, however over the last month you seem to have have change you mind 3 times (Keep him, sack him, Derby result then, keep him and now back to sack him). So when I and others, who don't happen to agree with you, change their mind they're irrational, however when you change your mind (sometimes on the back of a single result) it's Flexible? Open minded? Balanced? Fair minded? I agree that the terms you use are relevant to someone who changes there mind overtime, but I would use them to someone who changes their mind depending on which way the winds blowing. Personally I don't really care how many times you change your mind, but maybe you should treat other that change their mind with the same level of respect that you expect when you change your mind.

Short-termism, in the extreme. A bit like your waitress lust, 1950 <yikes> ;)
My waitress lust is constant Cromer - it's the object of my desire that fluctuates. I can see my wife's car coming down the hill to come and take me home - fantasy time over!!
