The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Jan 17, 2016.

  1. It isn't just one **** up, though, is it, but a magnificently turd-crested double-wum ****-up!

"Forever In Our Shadow!" means that you Gooners believe Spurs will never finish above you, plus it isn't even an accurate boast!
    <doh>

I am almost lost for words, again.

That is how YOU are choosing to interpret that phrase HIAG.

How I choose to understand it, (and what i think they mean when they say it), is that, no matter what Spurs achieve or who they finish above, or how many trophies they win....regardless.....they will always be considered a smaller or inferior club to Arsenal.

That is how I read it.

I'm not surprised that words have failed you again, as I've already explained it to you and you still can't comprehend.

Go and show me a quote where any Gooner has said that Spurs will never finish above Arsenal ever again, or simply accept that you've ****ed up again <ok>

  5. Okay, but that isn't giving the word "forever" its natural OED definition.

Forever means "for all time" or "permanently."

To say such a thing, when it isn't even true, is the act of a complete dickhead. I'm not trying to wum, here, merely state the obvious.

We all know what's going on, of course. The Gooners on this site are setting things up so that when Spurs do finish above Arsenal, they have an automatic defence and can assert that "one swallow does not make a Summer" etc. The reality, of course, will be that Spurs have fulfilled a power-shift that has been building for several seasons.

The wummery, I can assure you, will be savage and unrelenting.

If Spurs do finish above Arsenal it will most definitely be a case of 'one swallow does not make a summer'

If you can do it consistently for 20 years and win titles and doubles, and Arsenal don't, then you'll have your fabled power shift.

Until then, it's just more rhetoric that us Gooners will continue to taunt you with :)

  8. SEE WHAT I MEAN!!!!

That is absolute rubbish, and you know it is!

The shift began several seasons ago, as Spurs began to close the gap, getting closer and closer to day when we, finally, over-take you as North London's premier club.

When that happens, that's it! We did it. You will be in our shadow. The wummery will be savage and unrelenting.

You know it. I know it. You know that I know you know it.

The idea that you and Flanders are going to try and give it large following Spurs finishing above Arsenal is too muppet-like to even contemplate at this point in time. You will be buried, Pixie. Don't try to make out that you don't know that. Meanwhile, over on your board, there will be pandemonium, with everyone one of you demanding that Le Vieux Fou be strung from the nearest tree by his testicles.[/QUOTE]

The last 7 years according to you.
If you predict you will finish above Arsenal EVERY season, and are wrong 10 times running, the one year it does happen, you cannot very well throw it in their faces, and say "Called it HAHAHA!" because if you call it every season, eventually you will be right. That isn't really any level of acumen regarding predictions, like I said, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
But you so badly want to throw it in their faces, that it seems you are putting words in their mouths and taking **** they have said out of context so that you have something to beat them with, even if its something you dreamed up yourself.

I'll be honest, I, and probably most people thought last season was finally going to be the season they did it. But Spurs, in keeping with their Spurs' Style, managed to **** it up royally in their last 3 games.
If I had to make a bet, I would put money on them doing it this season. But you really should be aspiring for the title to be honest. **** Arsenal.

Maybe they claim you are forever in their shadow, because you never shut the **** up about them?

Can you even name any other Leicester fans other than Fosse who even posted on here before the start of this thread? I know I didn't and I'm sure others have only started using it to respond. Give us some names then

Even a broken clock is right more times that HIAG.

As you say, finishing above us once in 21 years, does not gloss over the previous 20 years of claims that they are going to finish above us and then ****ing it up.

It's like sitting an exam with 20 questions, getting 19 wrong and then claiming that you are a genius.

Excellent post in all fairness ...

Here's an analogy - and based on fact - I have not had a day off sick from work since I started in my current profession (1986) ... I suspect, on the laws of probability, I must ne statistically the most likely in my department to have the next time off due to sickness ..... but should that hapen I don't expect people to suddenly start referring to me as 'sicknote' or 'scouse Fosse' ... and anybody that has been predicting it for the many intervening years will not suddenly become a legendary pundit - merely someone whose predictions have been consistently poor for decades but eventually got one right ....<ok>

    As a Northern monkey.

I consider Arsenal as Londons biggest team.

That despite Chelsea have dominated lately, and i like W Ham.

Also another definition of 'forever in our shadow' is that until Spurs overhaul Arsenal's trophy haul, league finishes, participation in the CL and finish above us consistently, then they are in our shadow.

In theory they can change this of course by meeting the above conditions, but until they do they are 'forever in our shadow' :)

  20. What's according to me?

But I haven't "predicted" that Spurs will finish above Arsenal in any season. You making that assertion doesn't make it a fact.

Most seasons, not just over the last decade, I have been extremely pessimistic about our chances, as most Spurs fans have.

The most that anyone could possibly assert, with any degree of credibility, is that, last season, I was more hopeful than in previous seasons, that Spurs would finish above Arsenal. But I was hardly alone in that, since most professional pundits thought the same thing.

That isn't a very good analogy, is it? It's a quote from Withnail & I, and you're clearly intend on reeling it out, regardless as to whether or not you have any justification for doing so.

    Wrong.

They are the ones running around with false words.

Spurs have not been in Arsenal's "shadow" forever. Fact.

Only a muppet would make such a stupid and inaccurate statement.

And if such muppets make such stupid and inaccurate statements, they can hardly be surprised that they get torn to shreds, in the event that Spurs finish above Arsenal.

You were not alone. All of the clever money was on Spurs finishing above Arsenal, last season.

If that happens, you can bet your last penny that the ****er Gooners on this site will be yanking their little cocks off with wummery.

I don't see you having a pop at any Gooners, however.

    Me or Poch?

I have no control what the team's aspirations might be, but I would strongly suspect that, in Poch's mind, he is hell-bent on finishing as high up the table as he can, regardless of where Arsenal happen to finish.

It's us fans who want to finish above Arsenal. And let me promise you something... any Spurs fan who claims that he doesn't care whether or not we finish above Arsenal is a liar.

Well, if they do, it wouldn't make their dickhead claim any more accurate.
