Have literally never seen one Arsenal fan ever say this. The law of probability states that they have to finish above us sometime. But what gooners take the piss out of Spurs for is them always telling us that they are going to overtake us, and every year them managing to **** it up.

If and when Spurs do finally manage to finish above Arsenal, they will have done it on merit and will deserve their moment in the spotlight.

Some of you are getting a little bit confused, it seems to me. You are confusing your response - "I don't think there has been a spiral up or down!" - with the point of the thread, which is to discuss your response.

If threads could be brought to an end simply by you, Bodi, making a pronouncement in favour of one side of the argument or the other, that would rather defeat the objective in starting a discussion thread on a forum created for the purposes of engaging in discussion.

Even if Spurs won 3 back to back PL titles, they would still be in Arsenal's shadow in terms of trophy count.

If, by "Forever in our shadow" they are saying Spurs will never beat their trophy haul, then I agree, they probably wont.

The term 'forever in our shadow' is a generic term and a bit of banter for the length of time you have been in our shadow, it can't be forever as there was a brief period in te 60's and 80's when you were better than us.

But there is literally nobody who has said that Arsenal will finish above Spurs for the rest of all time, which is what is being discussed here. Unless you care to show me where ?

So once again you have ****ed it up. And regardless of whatever happens in the football, whether it's Arsenal or Spurs in front, I have come to realise that you are forever destined to **** it up.

 

We have 13 league titles to their 2. We've won the league on their own turf as many times as they have in their entire history. We have won the FA cup 12 times, including the double 3 times. We've been in the Top 4 and Champions League every season since Wenger joined and have NEVER finished below Spurs in that time. Wenger has equalled the record for FA cup trophies and set an unbeaten record whilst winning the league.

Wenger has completely shat all over 12 Spurs managers since he joined Arsenal. If there's ever a description of 'In our shadow' then that is it right there.

Chelsea might be reducing the gap, but Arsenal are still the most successful team in London.
