How big is it now - it began at about £60/70 million, if I recall? I'm sure it has increased: near to £100 million?

Recently, a pal of mine (in Hull), who knows a guy with some contact, has said the Allams have 'trousered' around £60 million. Anyone know if this is so, as it would appear they are repaying the loan/s to themselves?

If the above were to be true, it would leave the Club with problems trying to improve the squad.

It would also mean that the sale price of the Club would be of less importance to the Allams.

(Of cours, all the above could be empty rumour and speculation!)

The debt in the last accounts was £99.1m.

Of that, £23.4m was a bank loan to cover last seasons losses, which will have been paid out of the first of the PL money, as it was costing the Allams.

That leaves £75.7m, some of which might have been paid off, we'll have to wait for the accounts to find out, but there's no way it's anything like £60m, there simply hasn't been anywhere near enough money coming in for anything like that amount to have been paid down.

OK, ta for that, Lambo. I thought someone with more details would clear things a little.

They've been taking interest payments and management charges over the last few years. That'll amount to a not inconsiderable number of millions.

They'll have had at least £30m back in interest and group tax benefit, but that's not paying down the debt. Frankly, they could have got that interest on the money without putting any of it into Hull City.

Indeed. That might be a partial source of the £60m in the OP though.

It started around £40m or whatever it was Bartlett and Duffen clocked up.

If they've put in £70m, I don't know where they'd have got close to 50% interest without it being a different investment and similar risk.
