He was the best thing that ever happened to our club. Not only did he solve our problems in the short-term, but he has given us long-term financial stability that every other club in the country can only dream of having. He was one of us, and he will forever be remembered by us. Thanks Markus, hope we're doing you proud.

Sadly, it is often the case that you only become a 'legend' after you have lived. For us though, Markus was a legend for the whole time we were with him. We would not be here, on this forum, at the games or in any capacity anything to do with Saints if it weren't for this man's great efforts. On earth he was our savour, in heaven he's our saint.
He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. A true legend of Southampton Football Club, and one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met to boot. RIP Markus, and thank you so so much.

I have only ever had one name on the back of my Saints shirt, and there is good reason for that, no one has ever been a bigger hero and more deserved of my respect. RIP Markus Liebherr. The Saint.
