l agree with you Beefy: the model has worked for us these past few seasons but l am left wondering if it is a sustainable option when operating around the EPL glass ceiling as we currently are.

Don't see how Puel has "improved them" by simply playing them (and then dropping them) in games when he had almost no other option but to play a youngster due to injuries. Just don't see any evidence of him making players better who have been coached by others at the club for years.

What causes me to arch an eyebrow is that Ralph and Les will give entirely contradictory answers depending on the audience. We planted a story with Jeremy Wilson in the summer touting that we were no longer a club that had to sell.

Also, I'm a bit amused by his answer about his role:

As far as Ralph is concerned he's very important

Very few saw Mcqueen as a LB, spent last year on loan playing out wide, its the fact that they have been given the chance. it has been stated by Les that Puel has not had the time for real training because of the amount of games, I think he has played the most players out of all clubs. Its you calling young players mediocre when you have not seen them playing or training as they were not given a chance by the previous manager

 

Shame he will most possibly be going to City then.

 

I am genuinely gobsmacked that a Saints fan can say this club lacks ambition. Shocking statement and the sound of a short term minded, frustrated fan.

Is it only mega spending that indicates ambition these days?
