I guess you've had your moment, but jeez, your fanbase has some major issues if they'll settle for anything but relegation the following year.

When Liverpool won the CL in 2005, we wanted it again. Reached the final 2 years later, but lost. We still want it badly. I guess our attitudes are very different?

 

I don't think we're settling for it at all, the main LCFC forum foxestalk has been in meltdown for months! All we've said it we can deal with it because of last season temporarily but I for one am majorly frustrated that we haven't built on it as yet. We were never going to win or even challenge for the title again but top 6 is a target we should be looking to regularly meet IMO. Europe and cup runs for a club like ours

Come on Sky, you must certainly realise that there will be different aspirations between Liverpool and Leicester fans for crying out loud.
Leicester went into last season as one of the relegation favourites, not a single person on the planet expected Leciester to win the league.
Even those that put on bets were probably just ****ing around.
Liverpool fans should, and do, expect to compete for every competition they are in.

 

I wanted a decent run in the cups and a good go at the Champions League and would have preferred a top 10 finish.

The season has been a bit of a write off. Our backup defender is Marcin Wasilewski and our midfield for the last 3 months has been Andy King and Daniel Amartey, we've got the lightest squad a league winner has ever had.

If we can somehow get through the round of 16 and maybe get to Wembley in the FA Cup then I think we can safely say that this season has been a success. Then we'd just need to knuckle down in the summer and get back on track.

Liverpool expect to win trophies because they think they're a massive club, despite not winning a league title in centuries.
