according to BBC website they had 61% possession to our 39%..................................... if thats true, they didnt do anything of note with the ball cos it seemed to me like they never touched it.
I liked Evandro putting his foot in, good start Niasse looked a handful I thought, nice touch Don't really agree about Diomande. Nothing wrong with his effort at all, he's just not very good in the position he was played in Overall? Very ****ing Enjoyable
Perfect analysis of Diomande in that position. He's not good positonally in general to be honest. He lacks intelligence which he makes up with running and grit. Premier League player he is not, however this is the hand we have been turned. I like Silva wants pace on the wings something we've never really had for 3 years. Clucas is almost certainly a central midfielder now but looked better when Silva pushed him further up the pitch to stop Smith attacking.
Agreed, also good to come from the match buzzing, not wanting to kick the cat, and enjoy a nice bottle of wine. (Apologies to cat lovers.). Brilliant 2nd half, class. Great atmosphere. Didn't take long for Marco to realise bring back the Jak and play a proper striker = chance to win! He must be chuffed with Mason, like having a new player, contender for MOM.
Who was it on this forum that bleated on about Hernandez not being a PL striker? He looked every inch a PL striker today.
Also i said i was that confident marshall wouldn't start today i said i would never post again if he did Easy decision and thus you are stuck with me
cant remember, but what a change a new manager makes. We need a result against the big boys! personally, I hope we stuff Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Didn't see it like that, although I actually like him because he always puts the effort in To be fair Silva obviously agreed with you so who am I to say
Thing with Diomande is that when we are defending his positional play is alright, he works hard and is willing to tackle. And when we have the ball and it falls to his feet, he has a nice touch and a few tricks. But when we have it in open play he doesn't seem to be able to read the game and anticipate situations unfolding - an example being the cross near the end that was headed by their bloke and fell in front him in acres of space, 15 yards out - and simply stood and watched it spin past him. Great performance today though. Silva has clearly injected lots of work ethic and organisation - not least because he has been able to recruit a PL size coaching staff - and had imbued in Huddlestone and Mason a new belief to run the show in midfield. Of all the achievements that Silva might bring to City, making our £13m midfielder look like a £13m midfielder might be his most impressive.
