whats the chances that Pardew claims that Shola is the striker we were trying to sign

    As it says in the title whats the chances that Pardew claims that Shola is the striker we were trying to sign??:emoticon-0110-tongu

    "We spoke with his agent but Viduka just couldn't face hibernating for another winter so we've signed Shola up for an added two years and I'm pleased with that. Hat's off to him for his dedication to this club."

    “We are delighted to have confirmed Shola’s new contract,” said Pardew. “He has done a terrific job for me since I’ve been at the club and he is also a great character to have around the place. It is important to have continuity, and keeping Shola on board helps us achieve that aim.”
    “We still need another striker and we’re still pursuing that, and if we lose a player we’re going to replace him,” Pardew told the Northern Echo.

    Pardew: "when we realised that Grant Holt was out of our price range we toyed with the idea of reinstating Alan Smith as a striker due to his goal scorer record being similar to that of sholas. Derek suggested we launch a recruitment tomobola, the winner of which would be offered a new contract and the coveted number 9 shirt. After shola bought 52 strips of tickets he was always going to be in with a shout. Our hands were forced after the inevitable happened really. The jammy bugger walked off with a bottle of Glenfidich in the raffle as well...."

    funnily no one even looked at it for the first hour or so it was up. only now is it starting to unlock its potential...i hope shola follows suit...
