What are your thoughts about going out of the Carling Cup last night? 1 - Couldn't give a hoot. We're better off out of it straight away. We're not going to win it and it's hardly a crowd puller. 2 - Pretty disappointed. The league's more important but it would have been less embarrassing if we'd won and then got knocked out by a Premier League or Championship side in round two. 3 - Totally unacceptable losing at home to a League Two side. The players should be so ashamed of themselves that they should reimburse the ticket cost to the fans who paid good money to watch this debacle.
It looks like a lot of Championship sides showed their disdain toward this competition last night, with no fewer than SIX going out to lower league sides. Years ago a good cup run was a bonus. This season, like the last, considering the size of the squad and what even one key injury would mean, I find it a relief we're out. That said, how on Earth did they lose?
I'm somewhere between 2 and 3. Anyone voting 1, sure we don't need the extra games and tiredness with such a small squad, but losing against a league 2 side at home in the first round is only going to hurt morale.
