Morning all, bright and sunny without a single cloud in sight. Much more like it. <cool>

Yesterday I was trying out an idea I had for some work in the Old Forge. It seems to be a good way of getting over a mud mixed with straw problem and as it has worked will need to hit the road again to get more materials. Should be back for the match, fingers crossed, and hope that life in the UK gets back to normal, although I suspect it will take some time.

I am quite happy to withdraw from not606 if my difference of opinion causes you Mods so much trouble. Strangely only the two of you have raised any objection to my creating a thread. I think you see your position as being Policemen not Moderators. Syd indicated he did not want the Boards overloaded with threads about the riots - one thread does not constitute overload. As for the suggestion it should all be on the General Chat - that is not a place I choose to visit as it is a vile and offensive place to chat - at least when we are on the Watford Board we have heated debates that stay within reasonable bounds.

You paint me as the bad guy because I disagree with you - I can only tell you that I got quite a few PMs of support from people who did not want to be singled out for the fairly direct responses I got and also from people - who admittedly don't post a lot but who read the Nest for light relief and not political opinion.

Just say the word and I will leave and no hard feelings but I do not like being singled out as being unreasonable for not doing what you two tell me to do - all my arguments have been argued not set out to provoke. I think you need to be less concerned with your own opinions and stay in the background as Moderators on this site used to do - too often now we have to be told what the Moderators want. Are you our Seniors?

How can I be accused of being a WUM? Lok at the PMs and see who wrote those as you need to ask yourself if they believe in free speech. I have said the same as everyone else that I condemn the criminal hooligan thugs - all I disagree with is the over the top comments about pushing them out of planes and sending them to war zones. Your main issue seems to be that I started a separate thread - well we disagreed on the need for it and it cannot make me a WUM to open a genuine debate which was ongoing hidden here. For what it was worth Leonardo wrote some comments himself yesterday and did not seem to be critical of the thread

I do not want to leave and will only do so if you specifically request it.

HornArt - I like you only officially joined this site in August this year. You like me must have been an avid visitor and decided you liked what you saw and decided to join. I can understand you getting upset about the situation in London and the other copycat Cities at present.

However I can't see how that gives you the right to challenge the Protocol of a club, debating society, group of mates whatever you want to call us all assembled here in the first five mins of joining.

Afternoon all, I'm 2 hours ahead of BST. I would love to have a decent coffee in this place - I find myself ordering a Cappo with 2 Esspressos on the side!

OK why do I write on this site? My only reason is Football, if I want News or Politics or Business I go to sites who specialise in these. For this reason I don't respond to threads on here about the current state of affairs in "trouble hotspots". I am very fortunate where my family all live, as we live in the "good areas".

So let's stick to the football - please, where we all have one thing in common.

Is that what you think I was doing? I thought I was following the protocols by creating a thread to discuss an important issue - as every other thread created did. Go back and look at Liya etc - I looked through to see if a political thread was out of order and it is not. It follows the spirit this site had from the beginning. The new regime though appear to be introducing rules to tell us what to discuss and where.

I was on 606 and followed this site from the beginning wihout joining and am shocked that Mods are now telling us what to post "for the good of Mick and Syd, Those two have not PM'd me - it seems we have an over zealous new couple of Mods that want us to do their bidding.

It is for the users to challenge what we do not agree with not to blindly follow like sheep. Norway has gone from arch opponent of Mods to the other extreme almost in my opinion. Who signed up here to be told what they could and could not create posts on - and where do I break the spirit of the site.

Elixir - my sentiments exactly - but for those who want politics - it can be in a thread that "football only" people can ignore - not on a general chat line like the Nest

    Well said Elixir

HornART what do you want, you have made your point numerous times now, we all agree it should be on a different site away from the Nest so how about letting it drop now? Anyway you 250 points for creating the Thread.

I have just realised that I'm not sure of the correct pronunciation of SD's surname, never having heard it, only read it. Is it 'Dike', 'Ditch', or even Deachay? I must sound a complete idiot.

To change the mood for the better and a little light relief (no, not that sort) I suggest you check out the piece on BBC Sport about the Beach Volleyball, I just wish I was savvy enough to be able to post a link! :emoticon-0110-tongu

From the few times I've actually heard it (mainly on Hornet Player) it appears to be pronounced as 'dye with a sh on the end'. SD is so much more user friendly :)

How's life Down Under? My home town is presently gearing up for a rather early bush fire season - normally not an issue until November/December. I was following some news reports on twitter last night from both sides of the world - both used the term 'trouble hot spots'. The UK reports were obviously referring to 'The Riots' whilst the Australian ones were referring to actual hot spots - being monitored by firefighters. Funny old world!
