it'll be a right sight better than any other American track. I like the look of the steep hill into turn 1.
More news about the GP, from the BBC gossip column: Austin GP will be held in November because it's too hot in summer. http://www.gazzetta.it/Formula1/03-08-2011/ecclestone-ci-riprova-ancora-802304024460.shtml
First corner looks insane. Tilke's tracks look as if they're improving, this and India both look decent, the Korean GP was a classic last year, although admittedly the weather spiced it up.
The track looks absolutely awesome and I bet it will produce some great racing, for that reason it wont be shown live on the BBC
Anti Clockwise too, like turkey. Not enough of those tracks, they really test the drivers physical ability.
What someone thinks it'll drive like...
Now here's a guy from Austin Texas who takes his racing sims seriously this rig must have cost a fortune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asNTF4hdi2s
Red Bull coming to the streets of Austin From http://www.formula1blog.com/2011/08/15/red-bull-coming-to-the-streets-of-austin-this-saturday/ Austin will get a sneak peak at the speed, excitement, sound and chins of Formula 1 this weekend.....
Austin is still a long way off being finished so I guess the track could have several minor changes by the end that could make it a completely different.

Interesting to see that an F1 car, albeit probably with ride height, suspension, etc, adjusments, can cope with dirt and mud, I wonder how odd that felt to DC? From the sim of the circuit posted by BLS, the circuit looks interesting! The two uphill braking zones will be a challenge, and I like the idea of having corners he couldn't quite take flat out, and so tested the drivers skill. However, I fear in the real world, the cars would be set up to allow full throttle through those corners, negating the challenge somewhat. From the drive, I felt the first sector (and some of the later corners) were like the sweeping final sector of Valencia, which, whilst I like driving on a game, in real life seem to make it difficult for a following driver to keep close enough for the next braking zone, so I'll be interested to see if that is a problem. I also thought there was a bit of Sepang mixed in there with the two quick right handers towards the end of the lap. Nice to see Tilke being original. Obviously, it's only one mans interpretation of what he's seen, but I think it looks good, but I'm not convinced that it'll prove a classic.
