Yoshida is just great. Even when he hasn't been in good form (admittedly limited opportunities) I have always maintained that he's a good player to have around. Always gives his all for the cause, he is the first to admit it when he's made a mistake, he doesn't grumble when he isn't asked to play, he is always sporting a beaming smile in training photos and everything else. Small things that make him a very likeable guy, an exemplary professional and now that he's showing how capable he is with a run of games under his belt then a new contract can't be far away. I met Yoshida outside the stadium after we hammered Sunderland and although we didn't talk for very long, no more than a few minutes, I got a very good impression from him. He posed for a photograph, he told me that he loved being part of big wins (albeit as an unused substitute that day) to repay the great fans.

 

My favourite (non-playing) thing about Maya Yoshida is his frequent postings of food

 

Also, I noticed on Wednesday Yoshi was the first to go around the crowd and practically the last off the pitch.

He seems to love it here.

But then so did Lambert. And Lallana. And Louvren. And Shaw. And Clyne. And Chambers. And Scheiderlin. And Mane. And Pelle. And Toby. And Fonte.

 

And a lot of people seem to reference his under hit back pass when they say he has a mistake in him, ignoring of course Fonte's under hit back pass against United, van Dijk's against Leicester...

He gave away a penalty against Everton and as Redknapp said, that's the only mistake he has made this season. Fonte has given away (I think) two penalties? If both were judged on merit now would Jose even be guaranteed to start in front of Maya?

 

I am very pleased they recognised that aged people were due a great deal of respect. One or two posters on here could do well to emulate the Japanese example of good manners and respect the aged.

 

Maya came over to the Kingsland after the game but he was having a conflab with someone from the Broadcasting people, not applauding the fans.

 

Yeah saw & wondered what was going on. Anyone to elaborate?

 

To make no mention of the ones he got away with. For a while last season I thought refs had Fonte blindness. Was his biggest strength.

 

I've mentioned this before but here's proof he likes his food: He makes this himself between games.

Might just be that you were the only one who thought it. Whatever 'that way' was.

 

Many top defenders make errors and get away with them, we seem to make one and get punished, that's the difference.

 

Same here. He's almost reverential about it. Food is obviously not just fuel to him.

 

Although, to be fair, we weren't punished by Liverpool on Wednesday, even for not tracking Lallana before he knocked the ball down for Firmino's shot which Fraser saved. Maybe that game shows we have turned a corner?

 

Every player that makes a mistake learns how not to repeat it, Lewis will probably confirm that.
