I like the way he slices through the ball left footed and almost delivers it near to the penalty spot every time.
Was out all evening and had to watch the game back when I got in. Ollie is often accused by some on here of having no tactical nous, well I don't want to hear that again after that performance. Playing Hall as an old fashioned sweeper, dropping back out of possession and moving forward in possession was a master stroke. Manning was superb, with great dead ball delivery too. Pawel was awesome and linked brilliantly with Furlong who was excellent and is a better right back than Perch will ever be. Mackie ran and ran, whilst the whole team played for the shirt and the gaffer. Good riddance to the bad eggs who were unsettling things and well done to Ollie for shipping them out. Lastly, what a pathetic showing from the Reading fans. All those empty seats when third in the league! What a joke!
Hopefully many more to come, now that we are on a roll.............. Let's play Thursdays every week! please log in to view this image
Another great result. Really good to hear all the positive comments from members here ............ very refreshing indeed. Of course Mackie was going to score against his old club, simple really. Onwards and upwards.
I was extremely impressed by our tactics. Firstly that we has a clear plan, secondly that we carried it out well, and finally that we were consistent for 90+5 minutes. At times, I thought I was watching Borussia Dortmund under the Klopp era and was rubbing my eyes. I admit that I often had to remind myself that we are NOT the team in blue and white hoops. What an unexpected transformation! I have posted a few non optimistic opinions of late and eat my words. There is a Polish proverb, as said by George Peppard in the TV series Banacek, which says "One swallow does not make a Spring". Golden words and we need to keep a reality check. Such a formation and tactics are great for away games, but it will be interesting to see how we play at home, when we will need top press much more. Fulham on Saturday week will be very interesting and I am already looking forward to it. Anyway, well done lads and let's enjoy the moment. COYR's!
Agreed. Just imagine how many we could have scored last night had there been a natural goalscorer among that lot. The Rs could've had 4 or 5 were it not for that little bit of Jenny Say Quoits.
I was in no fit state to post after the game last night. Very happy and very proud, what a great performance. I don't think anyone let us down. I do have one question, has Pawel and Darnell been playing together all their lives but nobody knew?
Agreed. The result could/should have been a 3-0 or 4-1 win. It is a pity that we cannot impress our superiority, on the rare occasion's we have it, with goals. I do not even remember the last time we won 5-0 (unfortunately remember too many 0-5 thumpings!). Anyway, let's stay positive. We WON! Plus, we kept a CLEAN SHEET, and AWAY!
Last time we did that (for Gregs birthday) we stayed out all day and got home late. My Mrs wouldn't talk to me for a week!
I am one of those and I will stick by what I have said. I have watched Ollie over the years and on many occasions he doesn't have a plan B, looks lost or makes the same stupid mistakes. Last night the tactics were right and the team gave 100%. However there is still a lot of work to do and before I start getting on my knees like some of the cavemen I will wait until the end of the season to make my judgment. Remember it was only last month that we lost 6 games in a row and everyone was thinking relegation? Funny last week Luongo was cr2p last night a hero. That's how quickly things change. good result I am happy.
Theres a lot Id like to say about last night.......most has been said. but all Im going to say is I was and am very proud of the players who gave everything and I always record us when we are on TV but this is the first game for ages I will not delete straight away!!!!!!!
To be fair, even though the results were going the wrong way I felt almost certain things would turn around and I genuinely didn't fear relegation. Yes, we have to see how things go but we should be giving Ollie (or any manager that might have come in instead of him) a chance because we need to recognise that the problems at QPR are deep rooted and basically... we're lucky to have anyone that would come into the chaos that is QPR.
Thought young furlong looked composed, first time I've seen manning & looked confident & been waiting a while to see when he breaks into 1st team as there was a lot of hype about him, one for the future, pawel was outstanding as was rest of them, great performance & first one I haven't off tv
