Not guilty, M’Lud. Did post twice on the thread (once to compliment Beefy for his erudite words and the other to offer a suggestion re how the delivery of the prize could be administered) but they were both on the harmless side of harmless. Also see it stated that there was ‘personal abuse and foul language’ on the thread I started yesterday – which caused me so much distress earlier I had to go and lie down in the sick bay for half an hour. Is official clarification going to be forthcoming?!?

perhaps it was a reply to your delivery method post ? I don't know but either way someone got hot and flustered , one thing though , I don't think it will become a 'prize' any time soon .........
could be time of the month --beeriod ?

Pardon me Barney but I reckon that when a thread gets modded, as that one was yesterday, it is to keep it out of the public domain. Putting it back in the public domain via an explanation would rather defeat the cause. If you wish to know if the abuse was aimed at you then I would suggest you contact one of the mods via a private message.
I don't know if it was as I did not see the posts that are referred to but if you have the discussion with the mods I rather suspect that they may mention "not trying to wind people up in the first instance" old boy.

Evidently not. Cor bally blinkin’ blimey the Stasi were more responsive!

Stick, me old love, it’s an internet forum not The House of Commons. I couldn’t care less if the abuse was aimed at me, you or Uncle Tom Cobbley (how is he incidentally??? Hasn’t posted for a while). Just somewhat curious to see what went on in general. Unfortunately, the trouble with this forum is that several members are starting to get somewhat ‘precious’ and taking themselves far too seriously. Heaven knows what they would have made of the old days on the BBC site when ‘Fine Filly’ and ‘Arkle’ were in full flow! Although at least there you could say something and not be terrified that you might, in the process, offend some sensitive soul (who in all likelihood was eagerly waiting to be offended).

Pressed ‘send’ on the above message and had something of a ‘Eureka’ moment. Rolling my eyes I suppose Moderator Randy pulled my post in response to what he’d said, on the ‘wine prize’ thread, about cutting out the middle man and having Heisenburg’s prize sent to either the poppy sellers or the Injured Jockey’s Fund. On my ‘track closure’ thread I’ve had nothing deleted, or ‘said’ anything, so that unquestionably must have been someone else.

How he could find this in the slightest degree ‘wrong’ I’ve no idea. Anyway, I take it that the ‘P’ word has joined the blacklisted words list and so won’t say it again.

The old BBC forum was a daily fight waiting to happen. I was as guilty as almost any of them for starting a row!

Leftover beef stew from yesterday evening. 8/10. Like a good curry, it gets better with a day or two on its back.
