Well... you lot must be relieved it was only one in the end?

Thought we were brilliant and it was our performance that made you look poor tbh. Slightly disappointed to only have but good to take a lead into second leg and don't see why we can't score up there.

You seem to have lost a bit of intensity which must be a concern?

Thought defensively we were great tonight. Knew when to press and knew when to sit back and keep our shape.

For all of your possession, bar Forsters save from Firminho(?) in the 1st half I don't really remember you creating anything.

    Ref was utter ****e.

Sets it up nicely for second leg, should be a cracker!

We were poor all over. Karius was our best player, even then he didn't have anything outstanding to do. Made all the saves expected of a keeper. VdV was my MOTM. Had our forwards in his back pocket and was rampant all over the pitch.

Virgil is an absolute beast. Such a great cb and almost a complete footballer to boot. Love his surging runs forward... just seems so hard to get the ball off.

Romeu was motm for me though.

Can we discuss the actually good performances by some players last night

    1. Jay rod... he looked like he's still got the pace and he gave a very decent perofrmance up front

    2. Van dijk..... destroyed sturrdige utterly.

    3. Karius. several half decent saves made.

Astro is fair game to you guys, but he can look after himself, and he doesn't need any help winding people up.

A bit of banter is fine, but surely it needs to be a bit inventive or funny otherwise it's just trolling. It's a football forum, so you can't take it too seriously, but it just gets a bit boring when all our threads are taken over by the same old faces wheeling out the same old repetitive stuff.
And it's not just aimed at Astro, everything we post about our team is picked over and argued to death and it stops us from having any sensible debate.

This wasn't really aimed at you, you're hardly ever on here anyway - it was more to do with Treb trying to make out that it's in self-defence when clearly a handful of people come here looking for it. <ok>

    1. He's a clever player I like him, BUT his finishing isn't good enough to make him a top notch PL striker imo

    2. Looks better every time I see him, he was brilliant last night

    3. He looked much better, albeit he still flapped at a corner, that the hapless ref then gave a GK for. 3 very good saves though. Will he start on Sunday though?

I think it's part of the fun. We get the same ones on our threads doing exactly the same. My point was really that certain people i.e. Astro are incapable of having a balanced view.

I only pop on to see the excuses. Most of you are to the most part spot on regarding your team and give it due criticism. Some just blame the ref call every tackle made on your players a foul. Without seeeing the irony in it.

I'm looking forward to Sunday, win or lose I shall look forward to getting any deserved stick back. <ok>

This is what concerns me. He had a good game last night, but I'd have liked to see him do consistently well on a longer run before he got chucked into that type of game. He had nowt to do in the previous one, so basically it's just the one game, so I'm not sure that he's ready yet. At least he showed some potential to be a good keeper, something that's been lacking up until now.
Anyway, not my decision thankfully - I'd probably still go with Mig if it were.

    Don't want Sakho.

Your boards too tight to spend 40-50 million on a cb <ok>

I honestly think he'd walk into any team in this league, bar Spurs.

Well, when it's us against you (and the ref, of course) then obviously it's all fair game. <ok>

Tough call for him, but I make you right, as if he did stick with him and he had a mare at OT it'd unleash a whole World of pain on Karius.

Not worth the risk, stick Mignolet in, everyone knows he's **** already <ok>

Yes you are probably right but given his injuries him being back at all let alone looking that pacy still is good enough isn't it.

Yes karius did flap at that corner. the ref was indeed absolutely awful and saints fans got 95% of the bad calls. IF karius starts this sunday then klopp is playing favorites.
