@DonCorleone favourite player Igor Vetekole has joined St Truiden today :emoticon-0152-heart

As someone wittily remarked on Twitter, Roland appears to be having a spend up with the Lookman money.

Looking at Robinson [stooge] latest comments, and the little titbits this week from Meire mouthpiece Rich Cawley, is really does look as if Charlton's January "transfer spending" <laugh><laugh> is done.

IN- 4 players in - 2 loans, an ex Coventry kid full back, and a crock who couldn't get in a bad Rotherham side

OUT - £11,7000 worth of 3 players, 2 of whom were first team regulars.

Robinson is starting to get on my breasts. Does he actually believe some of the sh1t he is spouting? Empty vessels make the most sound. He seeks to justify the Lewis Page signing by saying "at least 3 other clubs wanted him" so what, if those clubs were Barnet & Orient?? I doubt they were Championship clubs somehow. And Foster-Caskey has "really impressed" since he has been here - lets see what he does v Millwall first.

Am I alone in getting increasingly disillusioned with this club, and its twat employees ?

I think we will bring in one more player before the window closes. Unlike the delusional lot on ITTV i didn't see us spending much money in this window. It was written all over Robinson's face after his visit to Belgium. I think Forster- Caskey is a decent buy. Also what I have seen of Nathan Byrne is good, very fast and can score a goal. I can see Duchatelet asset stripping further in the Summer with both Konsa and Aribo going. If we are still in the First Division, which I think is highly likely, then I think he will sell.

I don't pay any attention to what he says. The bottom line is always what happens on the pitch. I couldn't get any more disillusioned with Roland. He just doesn't realise how lucky he is to have bought the club at the Academy's most productive spell for ages. He just takes it as further evidence that his master plan is working, and will continue to work.
As for Robinson, we've got 2 home games coming up, win them both and there will be a positive vibe about the place, ready for the 3 away games. On the other hand...........................................................................

It is hard to get enthusiastic about loans Dick. They are not our players, and the vast majority of them are loaned out by their owner club for a reason. Charlton's decline started in 2006 when Pardew became addicted to loans. Of the loans we got last summer, Rudd is decent but Botaka and Ulvestad are 5/10 players at best.

Perhaps we could get Conor McAleney back?

While I agree with the general drift Royston, it' not actually anything new. We actually got a good deal with Ademola, and keeping him on would probably have devalued him, due to his becoming 'charltonised'. Besides, I imagine he was happy to get away, and really who would turn down the offer he had? Plus Fox had a fairly wretched relationship with a large section of our fans, and would probably happily have taken a step down rather tan up to go somewhere where he wsn't blamed for every mistake on the pitch. Plus we got money for a player who many regarded as rubbish.
The point I join with you is the use of the money. It was obvious the Rat wuld want to pocket some money. He claims to be losing 1 million a month at the Valley, and I doubt he sees his own mismanagement as having any bearing on that. The only question was how much he would want, and how much would go to the manager, and the answer is 'nearly all', and 'a pittance'. KR said we would spend some money before the window closes, and I'll take him at his word for the moment. We are arguably left with lesser players - how many league 1 teams sell a player to a Prem club and then buy in a similar quality one - but we may have more balance in the overall squad. Our top six Budget may yet make a bid for the play offs, which I see as a pretty poor effort by the management, but we knew they were rubbish years back, ITTV notwithstanding.
And sadly, I expect Dick's nasty prophecy about future sales to come true. KM promised us we would see the future stars of the Premier at the Valley, and it turns out she was vaguely right - for a very very short time.

I've always said that we're going to get loans and four defenders... And I was using tongue in cheek comments.

So far we've got two defenders (albeit we sold one)! We're not signing the quality that we need. And I bet that Roland will count Tony Watt coming back as a transfer.

Combining what was sold since the summer we have:

It's very rudimentary and probably not as accurate as it can be, but I'm pretty sure he's in pocketed from this season about £10million. I've not included loans, etc., only taken players that we've had contracted to Charlton.

Pope was £1m, and Lookman was rising to £11m. Magennis and Ajose are missing too. Still get the gist.

Rudimentary! I can make a full list of what we think it'll be if you send me the outgoings and a bit more accurate spending figures.

The extra money from Cousins and JBG probably cancel out the fees for Ajose, Holmes, Magennis and the actual amount we paid for Pearce.

The apologists are saying of course he has to sell to pay for the running costs and because of the boycotters:emoticon-0127-lipss. Nothing about the tacit admission that his Eurotrash experiment has failed, causing him to change course after a relegation and £m's wasted on duff managers and players. If he was really this benign Godfather figure he'd write of the £m's wasted on his mad experiment.

This is likely our biggest ever transfer income from a single season, goes to show how much the prem TV deal has even affected lowly league one.

Running football clubs is very expensive, there's no way a club like us could stick all our transfer money back into signings. In fact it would be a waste of money to spend that much at this level.

However Duchatelet is a very rich man, why buy a football club if you don't want to spend? Why throw away the wheat and keep the chaff? He's mad.

He thought he could create a legacy and change the ways that others looked at running a football club.

And then, he ermmmm, ran us like a dickhead and got us relegated.

It wasn't his fault though. It was the other clubs' fault for throwing out the Fair Play limit.

He also employed at least 3 people who were woefully ill equipped to deliver the plan- Meire, Karel Fraeye and Thomas Driesen.
