Is that £40k to pay staff etc per match? Does seem a poor show. Only slightly more than 50% of Sandro's wages for one week!
This is the sort of @@@@ that TF said would not happen. Once again the image of our club is being distorted. They don't mind using his images when it suits them but they can't look after one of our greatest players. A player that epitomizes QPR. Muppets
Fan power could change all that. Pass a few buckets around and Bob's your Uncle. I pledge a tenner when I'm over on the 21st. Anyone else?
I honestly thought I heard this was going ahead....I will sniff around as I last week, I read it was probably going to take place early next season....
When u think of the wages wasted on the likes of samba cesar Sandro boswinga swp etc etc 250 mill later an look where we are fkn shockingly run club!!!
I think the meeting has happened (anyone confirm that ....999s??). The club are not against the match but they want the fans to fund it....and the cost to run a match is 40K. "The club want the fans to fund it. We are trying to change their mind. Bringing as many celeb fans or press into the mix. Hoos is intransigent. He even said he is not scared of fan power. We shall see." This is Hoos the businessman speaking...he is cutting costs at the club, as he has been asked too (it his job)....and in all other respects...we the fans are supporting him in this He is probably right the club cannot afford that (now)...and it is not fair to bring up the money we have wasted in the past, because that is what he is in here to sort out. If this is the case (that we have to fund it) .... we may have to decide whether it is worth raising 40K to run a match...or whether 40K would be better off given to Stan/Alzheimers research. Lets discuss that here and see what we all think Just found this on LFW Apparently it cost 50 k to put something like this on with police cost stewards etc etc I have been shot down to about the kit sponsor so I have no opinion; but maybe us fans should all chip in so the club can put it on because obviously the new deal won't help This is all allegedly by the way ....info below Take a look at Stan Bowles Benefit (@StanBenefit): https://twitter.com/StanBenefit?s=01
Before we continue to be indignant and talk our club down, is this actually true? I've read a post on another forum that doesn't say who the "fan group" was that met with Hoos and when the meeting took place where this was (allegedly) said by Hoos. Is that what you read, qprherts? Anyone know who was there, or when it took place?
Arrange one in the park down the road with jumpers for goal posts, funded by supports and f@ck the club.... it would be epic
There is a facebook page called "Stanley Bowles Benefit Match At Loftus Road". I just liked and am following.
I have some sympathy with the club here as I think they have been trying to help and have already done some things for Stan and I think that you have to draw the line somewhere. It seems a bit daft to put on a game that is going to cost 40k before you start. Surely having existing match days used to raise awareness and have some fund raising things going on would make more sense. It is probably more about setting a precedent with an event like this that concerns the club. As old farts who grew up admiring Stan its also up to us if we feel strongly enough to look to help. In many ways Stan has had far more help than many everyday people suffering with this and other diseases so protesting at the club seems a bit churlish.
