Great and deserved result tonight, just a pity that we did not get the second.

Liverpool could not get through us and we were too deep for them to get in behind. Lots of balls into the box for Yoshida and predominantly van Dyke is perfect for us. Although actually we were a little shaky early on but fortunately Forster made a decent save. Some nice moves and touches on the counter-attack that will hopefully give us some momentum and confidence.

I still expect Liverpool to go through, but we are still in this and while there is a chance I shall not give up hope.

He shouldnt be so hard on himsel... ..I really shouldnt say things I dont actually mean.
Kidding. Not kidding... ..He did try super, super hard though.

If he scores another at Anfield he will make it all disappear. If he scores 2 or more then the whole season will be forgiven.

I know Dusan is a serial diver, but at least one of the 8 or 9 times he was brought down, must have been a foul, Clyne did a bit of all in wrestling and Dusan gets booked? The lino on the Kingsland side was of no use to the Referee at all and missed 3 clear off side decisions in the first half by being too far behind the play, and how they missed that tip away by Karius and awarded a goal kick is beyond me.

Tonight was a great opportunity for him. He has always been the understudy, tonight he got his chance to stake a claim and he took it well.

One of Clyne's moves was pretty much an Olympic standard judo takedown. And Tadic got booked.

Maya always plays well after a run of games, he was faultless tonight in my opinion, it was good to see Virgil organising and conducting what was happening in all areas, sorry Jose, you weren't missed on this occasion.

Only 32% possession, but that was because we were like a bunch of sheepdogs, penning them in the area between the half way line and the penalty area, but snapping like Jack Russell Terriers in the other areas, good stuff.

Wow, where did that come from? In my opinion that was the best performance I've seen all season. Thought all the players put in one hell off a shift, so different than the league game against Liverpool.

We got in their faces, and really pushed them in the final third with quick pressing, winning the ball then hitting them with pace. Think tonight shows how much more at home the players look, playing a quick counter attacking football.

Amazing how by putting them under pressure, their defence looks so ordinary. J Rod gave Lovren a real game tonight, challenging for everything. Though with all that's been going on this week, my MOTM was Yoshida. He did not put a foot wrong, and was superb considering all the Fonte stuff going on.

So Please Mr Puel, continue with this style if football, and you will soon win over most of the fans. This is what we want to see. Quick pressing, quick release, forward thinking football.

Pool fans are saying how poor the ref was, giving them nothing
