How anyone can be grumpy about that and think about the second leg I don't know. Those misery-guts just need to remember how we have been playing in the last four (or more) games and then how Liverpool have been playing. I honestly thought we'd lose 3-0. The next game is 14 days away, if Saints starting playing well and get good results and performances at Burnley and at home to Norwich and Leicester how the heck can you say what is going to happen at Anfield? We've done well up there recently too. In my opinion it is all to play for...and I'm very happy because of that.
Makes my 5am start at work tomorrow slightly more enjoyable , 4 Liverpool fans to hammer all day and £10 to collect off each one! . Life's not so bad after all.
Well done Southampton May I also personally apologise for taking Morgan and dumping him on th bench undeservedly. Would rather he'd stayed with you after the lack of chances he got at United. But anyways, well done Southampton. Now smash them at Anfield... and we might just see each other in the final
Good performance from redmond; if he had come up through our academy I suspect our fans would be a lot more positive about him. He has had some poor games playing out of his normal position but the potential is there. He needed to step up tonight and did Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Good result, could have been a great result if Redmond had a bit more luck, excellent team performance
Pretty chuffed with that ... excellent performance. Could have been so much more, but I'll take that. Up the Saints!! We can do this
Are you suggesting that we do rotation on this board?! Surely if he's fit he's going to have to do the match thread for the weekend?
With the proviso that whatever happens in the next 3 games, he does the match thread for the second leg!
Just got back. I thought it was a great performance tonight. Really good to see us put the boot in. Clasie, Davis and the main man Romeu all excellent in the middle. The downer for me was silencing the Liverpool fans, only for a bunch of absolute idiots to start singing Hillsborough songs. Brought them back to life. Ashamed to share a club witht them.
Attendance was 31,480. Why were people moaning as if was going to be half empty? On Sky: Puel pleased with team, but unhappy with the score.
I was walking back after the match and I found myself behind Dave (he having no idea I was there). Just as I was about to say "Hi Dave" he said to FLT: "Wonder what Tom made of the referee?" Dave then spotted me! Writing it on here doesn't tell the story justice. It was one of those moments where you had to be there. It was absolutely priceless. And FLT's son body checked me while running past! It was a completely bizarre chain of events!
Thought the whole team were excellent (with the possible exception of Tadic) Shame some felt the need to boo Lovren so much, atmosphere was so much more positive in the second half when They couldn't see him down there other end, concentrate on supporting saints!
