Says much when you cannot remember Sturridge shooting for no apparent reason. Good thing we have 3/4 of the tie to play. Just chilled out no worries yet from me
Were it not for Karius we would have been 3-0 down. So I and many others asking for Karius to be given a rest were right... We surely cannot play as bad as this in the second half.
Do you think our players could watch that quick passing and one touch stuff Saints are doing? Just a thought like...
Think Lucas is okay but he slows us down terribly. Should not be in a team with Can. Tbf to can he been charging every where just not enough quality at mo but we are out everywhere
BR must have thought Can was too dynamic, so he played him as cb in a back 3. Can has (un)learnt a lot from Skrtel and is now a brainless, plodding, useless force to be not reckoned with
To give an example, near the end of that second half, Clyne had the ball passed to him by Lucas out from centre to the flank. He could have a) beaten the only man in front of him and put in a cross, or b) passed it sideways. Sturridge was running into the box next to him, but then Clyne sent a ball sideways which forced him to stop his run into the box, turn his back towards goal and run back to salvage it! Sturridge barely saved it and Clyne lost it immediately. So now it's "oh where was Sturridge?" Well he was mopping up sloppy play from Clyne in order to get a chance with the ball at his feet, instead of setting up to be in the right place at the right time. And since he couldn't get one, he's now blamed for being "static". Just one of the examples you could give. Anyone blaming Sturridge is clearly letting some bias affect how they're seeing this particular match.
I said in the Science thread that nothing in this universe is static and not moving. Can has proved me wrong.
