Aye definitely, and even if he remains in midfield it could mean slightly less chance of Alan Smith ever getting near the starting lineup, which is something we can all agree is fantastic news. Well apart from my mate at work who says he would still play Smith over Tiote

When I watch the actual games I cant have any music whatsoever, like sometimes in City Vaults in the town they turn the commentary off and play music when the game is on, I cant handle it and go off in search of another establishment. ****s.

I seriously get angry, it pisses my friends off a lot <laugh>

And on the topic of Smith vs Tiote, he still reckons Smith should be captain and that we need his "tough tackling" in the centre of midfield. Hes a bit slow bless him.

Obertan was talking in the NUFC interview about having a fresh and new start for his football. To me, it seems like he feels he's got himself into a bit of a low self-esteem spiral at Man Utd, and he needs a fresh club where he can come out and really try to show people what he can do.

I sort of get that really. I hope he does it for himself and for us.

Watched that it was a good interview and he speaks surprisingly good english.

And I hope he does too, hopefully the inevitable warm welcome from us fans will be enough to get him started <ok>

I'm gonna sound really mushy and optimistic here but I get the impression that he's been slated for maybe missing a few sitters and his confidence is shot. He looks unbelievable but in a Jonas kinda way. Does a lot more good than he gets credit for if you know what I mean. He looks ****ing rapid too, isn't he about 6'2" as well? That's about the same height as me and I'm buggered if I've seen anyone my height run like that. I'm really excited about the bloke, with a decent run in the side he could be lethal!

If he plays on Saturday, he'll get a nice welcome from 50,000 geordies at St James Park. He won't be as impressed as some new players because he's already played a lot in front of 70,000 odd Mancs, but I'm sure it'll still be special.

The reason he doesn't play for Man Utd - Valencia, Nani, Giggs, Park. He's a good player it was just too hard for him to break through there.

Jonas getting free licks on the left and Obertan getting them on the right.

Cabaye, Ben Arfa or Barton floating them into Stevie Taylor so he finishes top scorer at the end of the season with 73 goals.

its plausible if you ask me. seriously they could terrify full backs dragging centre halves out of shape left right and centre...if only we had a goal poaching midfield to arrive late taking advantage of the extra space...oh, hang on a minute...
