I wouldn't normally do this but it's "clean sweep" .... a 'clean swoop' is 'street' for a rinsed fanny ... so appropriate when linked to Trebs, fair play <ok> <laugh>

    Absolute rubbish!...

You think you're going to buy two top 24 year old defenders who play for Real Madrid & Bayern Munich respectively, for £40-50 mill?

    You're ****ing dreaming, pal...

Fuchs is a better player than Rose will ever be, granted he's reaching the back end of his career. Rose is in his prime now, he's as good as he'll get and is bang average IMO. Fuchs at that age would have been head and shoulders above

How much would Spurs want for their players?

I suggested 40m for the pair and was called a wum? Are you agreeing with me?

No, they're worth more than that to us..they fit well into the system that we like to play.

Apart from that, they're both English so obviously qualify as home grown players. And they're two of the best attacking full backs around.

What makes you think they're the two of the best attacking full backs around?

Personally think Alaba, Alba, Marcelo, Layun, Sandro, Tremoulinas, Rodriguez and Sidibe are better than Rose and Alves, Juanfran, Carvajal, Lichtsteiner, Aurier, Bellerin, Florenzi, Coleman, Gaspar and Danilo are better than Walker.

The reason Rose and Walker are worth the amount they are is because they've got good Premier League experience, they would have that rival premium (why would you sell to a direct rival without them paying more) and they're supposed to be at or approaching their peak.

So how many of these players do you watch? Don't always believe what it says in Match magazine <doh>

I'm not familiar with the abilities all of those players. And I suspect they're not all attacking fullbacks

I'm certainly not saying they're in the class of Alaba, but they're both very good attacking fullbacks, nevertheless. Plus, defensively they have both improved markedly.

They're all attacking fullbacks, which is why i've not included the likes of Gaspar, Lahm, Fuchs, Felipe Luis, Kurzawa, Monreal and Schmelzer.

If Danny Rose played for Lyon, he'd be worth 15m. His value comes about from being English and having vast amounts of Premier League experience. He's not going to be on the radars of foreign clubs because they're not going to pay the Premier League prices.

The value is abroad. You get better players for cheaper prices.

I agree that that is part of the problem. The Prem is a whole different ball game, as the yanks say, just because a player is a success in his domestic league doesn't mean he'll cut it in the Prem.

Absolutely. You'll note that i've included Felipe Luis in my list of better defensive fullbacks. He was awful in the Prem yet he's world class when he#'s up against the likes of Bale, Neymar, Ronaldo and Messi in La Liga. Horses for courses. It's why United will be willing to pay the money for Rose. Far less risk. Not necessarily about who is the better player.

It's a large part of why I don't think we would sell. They're both experienced Prem attacking backs. They fit the way Pochettino wants us to play, etc.

As I said earlier, it's not a case of their so called market value, it's what they're worth to your side and it's balance,,

I'm in a dilemma! I don't know who I want to lose more Leicester or Chelsea.

Good call bro. Same here. Those chavvy oiks deserve a good spanking to follow up our masterful destruction of them at the lane. But Leicester and fosse in particular need taking down a peg or two for celebrating too much for winning the league last season.

Without a doubt HAIG. No Southampton fan would have a reason to dislike Leicester so much. Why does this belong on the Spurs thread btw HAIG? You must be the only Spurs fan who would seriously prefer Leicester to lose when Chelsea are more involved with Spurs because of last seasons bitterness. Get over it
