    1) Harper and Mckenna should never be allowed to play together at the same time, ever!
    2) League 2 is harpers level, he actually managed to get the ball and pass it! It may have either been a backwards pass or a long ball but a pass none the less!
    3) Devitt cant take set pieces
    4) Brazilian goalkeepers are still very dodgy, basso should really be coming and claiming the ball for that first goal.
    5) Homer is back!!
    6) Danny East isnt ready to be near the first team yet
    7) Dawson still hasnt got a right foot
    8) Fryatt and Simpson need someone else up front with them, or a midfielder willing to attack
    9) We need to keep Koren

Yes it was an atrocious game, everything about it was 0-0 except for the result, but im still not too worried yet, lets hope our away form from last season carries on and we can get our first win on saturday!

Dawson has never had a right foot in tempted to go to cottingham and tie his left peg to a chair for a couple training sessions and make him use his right.

We haven't got a very decent reserve team. God help us if we need to replace anyone in the starting line up.

We need to start bringing in better youth team players sooner rather than later, if Devitt & East were anything to go by.

I thought East had a good game. Devitt was a bit mixed, he did some good things but his set pieces were awful. Why does NP keep letting them do these stupid free kicks where they aim straight for the middle of the wall and hope they move out the way?! It never works, Koren and Devitt both try it every single time and we just look silly.

We haven't had a corner taker in about 10 years who can beat the first man.

East had a bad game? He made one defensive slip at the end, he covered for the centre halfs in the first half from a free kick, won most of his headers against a lad at least 5 inches taller than him. Got down the flank a good few times, put plenty of crosses into the box.

I said a while ago that we will struggle this season if we are unlucky with injuries because we lack depth in the squad.

    Tonight proved that.

I wish I agreed, but it wasn't even the second string players that were the problem. Fryatt and Simpson are again the primary villains and they are supposed to be our main strikers. These are the lads who are supposed to get the goals for us in the league this season, and they won't do that by not shooting.

East was really an unkown quantity, so the lack of expectation probably helped him. Definitely looks to have potential though, it wouldn't surprise me to see him a fair bit this season (given Rosie's injury record)

I think first half the occasion got to east a bit, he wasnt going forward at all and looked very nervous. Second half though i was more impressed and think he has potential but isnt ready yet

I'm pretty pissed off with Pearson tonight to be honest. I mean, I don't expect him to be a Ferguson or Mourinho standard tactician, nor do I expect City to play Madrid or Barca standard Football, but I at least expect him to be a bit more attacking against a team so poor they're the Bookies' favourites for relegation from the Football League, and to make a few changes when we're playing so poorly. Tonight certainly won't have helped change the opinions of those who have Christened him "Negative Nigel". What DID we get? A few ****ty passes between tired old men like Dawson, McKenna and Barmby before giving it away, another inept performance from Hapless Harper and a dicking from a team so **** they lost at home to Dagenham at the weekend and whose average crowd is a third of the size of the 4,800 at the KC tonight.

    What I learnt...

    No strength in depth
Non of the three strikers fielded in the last two games will get into high double figures this year (without a hatfull of penalties)
We need a creative midfielder (come back Jimmy all is forgiven)
We need a 'proper' striker a-la Phillips, Miller, Nugent, chopra, Sharp
    McKenna's half tidy (literally)
We need Mannone or Guzan back quick
We need Gerrard or Ayala back quick
    We need Stewart back quick
    We need...

We need to take a breathe and calm down a bit.

We were awful last night, Harper was/is useless, the guy has no vision. Devitt is limited, works hard and covers the ground but delivery is hit and miss, and is certainly no dead ball expert. Dawson has shown why he was replaced, knows the game but too one footed, no pace and looks to be losing his stamina.

However lets not panic just yet. Strikers work off service, they didnt get any last night. On Friday they did but they couldnt convert. We know Fryatt is a cracking finisher and will be scoring again soon, Simpson has just returned from injury give him a game or two. We know Chester and Hobbs are decent defenders, along with Roseinor and Dudgeon our back four will be strong (just need Gulsaci to command his area better). Cairney looked decent on Friday and can provide the flair. Bradey, Koren and Stewart can provide service for the stikers.

We need to bear in mind that in just over a year the club has seen over 25 players leave and over 20 come in. Lack of depth is a concern, however I am sure we will do something after the transfer window shuts and loans are more readily avalible.

We cant take away the fact last night was dire, however some of the posts are plain panicky, we got beaten in a cup game that we are not really interested in (less then 5000 turned up, shows how much it means to fans), and deserved something from Blackpool.

We had something like 20 shots last night, how can you say the strikers got no service?! The chances were there but they ****ed them up (again).

It's easy to say we need a Chopra/Sharp type striker but last week Fryatt was just as good as them, it's only a bad patch of form which he will hopefully improve on. The same goes for Simpson.

cant believe nobodys mentioning the unprecedented 6 international call ups on a match day. Yes, it may be an excuse, but a valid one IMO,. Brady (who scored twice last night btw) and Koren alone would have probably guaranteed a different outcome last night.

As a collective you may have a point. But to say Danny East was poor is not on. He was MOM by miles. He looks raw yes but promising under study for Liam.

what tuesday proved is that you get what you deserve when No Effort Is Put In. Only East and to a lesser extent Dawson and Devitt look interested. imo.

As I said on another thread, how is the fact that the fans don't care about the competition relevant to the fact that we turned in such a poor performance against a poor League Two side?
