I think they call it down to the bare bones. And you guys don't think we need another centre back in the transfer window. Even tonight I thought Cooper was a liability. At least now he's an injured liability.
Every team should have 4 cb's. Can't believe people suggested we shouldn't sign another one. Apparently Cooper is a bit ****ed, couldn't get down the tunnel.
Simon O'Rourke @simon_orourke 35m35 minutes ago Pontus accidentally elbows someone: "lucky to stay on". Ikpeazu elbows Bartley, "good decision to give Cambridge the freekick". Sod off.
Were going to be short on Friday and to be honest, Jansson made a couple or awful errors that went unpunished first half. Last season Cooper was our best CB and we were worried about Bellusci and Bamba... We are not going to sign a CB as good as Bartley or Jansson and him be happy to be on the bench, we are only going to get someone of Coopers ability at this stage of the season. BTW I watched it live on BT sport

So how did the players do, individually? I was relying on BBC text. I did do a search through the text on Grimes & found him only on the team list. Was this unfair on him? Did Mowatt look good, or did a slower, less fit team make him look faster than he is?
I know this sounds cocky and arrogant but I'm glad to see that people are now echoing what I've been saying for months now.... We've been desperate for s striker for a season and a half now. We've been desperate for a CB since the day after the transfer window.
Mowatt played some good passes and at times looked cultured. But it was cambridge. Pontus had a complete mare. Duke was completely useless and was completely ineffective. But worst of the lot for all the old reasons was silvestri. ****ing useless.
Oh dear, hope we're not developing a Pontus Bamba. Nothing to say about Grimes, or is there nothing to say about him? Again.
I thought Berardi & Taylor were injured. How would we line up if they were? ---------------Green--------------- Berardi---Ayling---Bartley---Taylor -----------Bridcutt--O'Kane----------- Sacko--------Hernandez-------Roofe ------------------Wood------------------ OR ---------------Green--------------- Ayling---Monk---Bartley---Coyle -----------Bridcutt--O'Kane----------- Sacko--------Hernandez-------Roofe ------------------Wood------------------ Did you see what I did there?
Silvester was poor, he allowed the goal at the near post getting wrong footed, he had a couple of kicks that were awful and he nearly cost us a goal late on when he could have caught it but parried back into the danger area. Berardi looked an angry man first half, he might have been sent off if he had come back out second half, looked very average on the right. Coyle came on, looked a little rusty, did okay nothing outstanding, nothing too much wrong. First half Jansson made a couple of silly errors, he looked 'up for it' but a little too aggressive, like he was playing up to the fans and had a 'hard man' tag to live up to. Second half he was immense and looked the best player on the pitch in my opinion. His header was 'arguably' going in, Mowatt got a flick that ensure a goal but could have easily sent it over. Cooper I thought he did okay, a couple of stray passes, not the quality of Jansson but never will be. Bartley came on and never put a foot wrong, calm and composed. Denton looked average, he too gave the ball away one too many times first half, he didn't impress. Grimes awful, he was absent for most the game, I only realised he was playing when he went for a pass that flew out. Mowatt got serious praise, he might have edged it for mom but I simply don't rate him so I am biased but I felt he too was average. Played in the middle to start with and did some neat stuff. Philips didn't have one of his better games, over tried and another who was too aggressive from the start, needs to calm down just a little. Dallas wasn't too bad, I say that but this was league two opposition, he should have done better Antonsson, I would have preferred their striker, he didn't get into the game, one good bit of skill near the end but we need better Doukara - Worst game I have seen him have, ran into trouble, couldn't win a ball, couldn't put a pass together and kept turning his back and looked uninterested. You would have sworn he had already played 90 minutes earlier in the day. Roofe came on and I so want to like him and say he is going to be good but he isn't, he is always just average and when you consider what he was doing against teams like Cambridge it is a shame he didn't shine tonight.
I can only give you an unashamed assessment based on BT sport coverage as apparently everyone round here are suddenly Cambridge faithful so couldn't get a ticket Silvestre - proved why he should never have been number one for such a great club. 100th appearance tonight - how? 3 Berardi - if a ref went looking for him he is a sending off waiting to happen. Aggression is not enough. Danny Mills was ****ing brilliant, alas, Berardi isn't. 5 Jansson - becoming his own enigma and believing the hype too much - must concentrate on the basics first - not as good as Bartley. 6 Cooper - not as good as Jansson. 5 Denton - raw. 4 Dallas - better than Chippy thinks. 6 Grimes - don't get it - flickered. 4 Mowatt - player but no pace. Could be ok in a decent side. 6 Doukara - not good enough to be lazy - owes Monk and the fans a performance on Friday if picked. 2 Phillips - cares and proved he could make it in league 2. 3 Antonnson - don't get it. 2 Subs, Coyle - will make it. 6 Roofe - player with pace 6 Bartley - ain't nobody makes me happy like Kyle Bartley - sign him up. 8 Manager - looked an odd decision by Monk to replace Berardi with Coyle, but not when you look at Ellands' team for Friday. Didn't need the Swiss Kato getting a second yellow tonight. Can't fault him for giving fringe players a run in a cup that we might not even win. An ugly win is still a win - well done GM. 9 MOT
That makes two of us, your scores are about what I would give each, Jansson a 7 based on 2nd half and he was playing with a yellow card over him, Grimes the 2 and Antonsson the 4.
If only I could type quicker I would have said you copied me you bandit - well very similar in many ways
