Lonergran 5 - His distribution was poor, think he is just an average goalie at moment Conolly 4 - Shocking defending O'Brien 3 - Shocking defending Kisnorbo 6 - Did okay but can't expect to make up for those around him Parker 4 - Terrible Sam 7 - Felt he had a decent game but could have done more Clayton 8 - Deserved MOM and I was his worse critic last game Howson 7 - Again could have done better this was Div 2 opposition Nunez 7 - Promising, not the finished article so right footed its unreal McCormack 6 - Scored a header he couldn't miss and a looked better 2nd half Brown 5 - Another who should have done more considering saturday and who we were playing Lees 7 Bromby 7 - even the team relaxed and played better football when these came on. Grayson - Credit to him that he made the two substitutions but should he have needed to, we know O'Brien is not up to it and we know the defence is shocking.
Agree with everything apart from the rating of Brown, I only saw one pass go astray and looked in control at all time. Parker one injury too many and o'brien was just shocking.
Brown - sideway passes, he never created anything won a few challenges but the point is this is Bradford, two divisions lower, it was his chance to stand out and he never. Not saying he was rubbish but he didn't shine like Clayton did.
Disagree with 7's for Lees and Bromby, they are defo better than Connolly and OBrien!! but theydint do brilliantly either. My ratings are Lonergan - 5 Kicking was dire, feel sorry for him as this defence is worse than Prestons Connolly - 4 Never rated him, never will, always criticised him OBrien - 4 Slow, slow and just out of position, its all over for him Kisnorbo - 5 Not amazing but our best defender, will do fine in a good defence Parker - 4 Plays like a school boy Sam - 4 looked lively but dint really acheive anything, ran into trouble everytime, love his positive attitude tho Howson - 4 Another no show, not leading the team, can and should be replaced, still showed glimpses of good passing Clayton - 6 Shows promise but shows inconsistency, will be a good player in a couple of years, keep hold him Brown - Has done nothing in two games Nunez - 7 Not a winger or a striker so I felt for him, poor miss but redeemed himself with some good passages, not the finished article but god he'll be good wen he is McCormack - Too short and not good enough, Useful sub tho Overall - 4 Very poor side we have, Snoddy Gradel Becchio and Somma are hugley missed especially Davide and Luc. Cant pass cant defend and we arent very good in the attacking third, how many times did our players shoot from distance and smacking theshins of the Bradfird players, a lot!! Huge improvement and investment needed before its too late p.s Nunez is our top scorer ayyyyyyyyyye
I like that about brown gave clayton a chance to do more, I don't think brown would au any different against arsenal he's just that type of player who keeps things sinple
I hope Grayson learns from this, needs to keep Lees at RB & Bromby CB. Parker not good but think I'd prefer him LB than O'Dea. If we get a quality specialist LB in that's the back 4 sorted I'd have thought. Quite happy with Lonergan, just as good as Kasper. Clayton was class as he was on saturday,Brown steady,Howson I'd agree should do better against this sort of opposition. Sam was ok but Gradel should replace him. McCormack looks to have his confidence back & Nunez sheer class & should keep his place ahead of Snodgrass on current form.
@ QSS - The game changed when they came on Lees cross was perfect and the team settled when O'Brien and Conolly left. You give O'Brien, Conolly, Parker, Sam and Howson all 4's? It shows you're plucking random numbers out the air. Anyone with half a sense would see the value of Sam and Howson over the three numpties at the back
"Sam - 4 looked lively but dint really acheive anything, ran into trouble everytime, love his positive attitude tho" I think youll find Sam created 2 goals? He was one of the few players to come out of the game with credit.
Lonergan - 6 - Could have maybe done better with their 2nd but at the same time probably wasn't his fault either. Did what he needed to do well, but didn't need to do very much. Connolly - 5 - Average. Some misplaced passes and looks like he's lacking confidence. O'Brien - 5 - Poor again. Should be replaced. Kisnorbo - 7 - Looked more like his old self. Parker - 3/4 - Useless. Get rid. Brown - 6 - Was quiet but went about his business well. Broke up some attacks which is what he's here for. Clayton - 9 - Brilliant again. Ran our attacking play, set up a goal and set up what should have been a goal early on. Was all over the pitch defending when needed. - MotM Sam - 7 - Great wing play. Set up the 3rd and did brilliantly in the move for the 1st. Howson - 7 - His usual self. Great running and really scares defences when he gets at them. Nunez - 7 - Took his 1st goal well and ot into the position for the 3rd. Apart from that though did nothing but miss chances. Very one footed. Not the finished product yet but getting there. McCormack - 7/8 - Looked shaky in the 1st half. Goal was put on a plate for him but it was still a good header and looked a completely different player once he gained the confidence from the goal. Subs: Bromby - 7 - Looked so much more solid than O'Brien. Lees - 8 - Defended well and put in a magnificent cross for the 2nd goal. Has a future at RB based on that performance. Taylor - N/A Overall - 7 - Nerves showed in the 1st half but dominated the 2nd and gained a deserved win. Great confidence booster and exactly what was needed after Saturday. As Clayton said, a 3-2 win against a strong pumped up Bradford team was better than a 4/5-0 thrashing of a poor non commited side would have been. Far more positives than negatives.
Lonergran 5 - im not convinced.... Conolly 4 - Not his best game O'Brien 1 - Time for a place on the bench! Kisnorbo 6 - He needs a younger faster partner.... Parker 2 - sorry ben.... Sam 7 - he is solid...never a gradel but he worked and work and set up Nunez last goal Clayton 8 - MOM Howson 7 - i just wanted a little bit more...he has a amzing engine..but thought he shoudl have stepped up Nunez 7 - he has quicker feet than flloyd Mayweather get going and even though he missed a few he never lost confidence....a gem a think McCormack 6 - After the header went in he looked a different player.... Brown 5 - i think he will never be everyones cup of tea....give him time i think he will improve Lees 7 - there is our new right back.......now give him some games Bromby 7 - WHY does he not start...he is solid and calm .... Grayson - 6 at least the subs were the right ones....Obrien now needs to be dropped and lets see and some more passion i like that... i would just like to say my assesment was made in a chair in mallorca so i may have missed some stuff that being their would have give me...although the red wine was nice and i think my neighbours thought i was doing something very loudly especially the last goal from nunez... "YES YES YES"......get in.... ..."put the kettle on babe" i was a little quick im sure in their eyes!!
opinions were divided on saturday as to the worst culprits in a terrible team performance, seems more of a consensus today. I pretty much agree with Ristac's ratings, though 4 is generous for Parker. some observations: I actually feel a bit for parker... he's had very little football, but i've always thought he was a liability when he was getting game time. Hopefully last night will shut up the 'parker's our saviour' brigade. I get the feeling that Grayson thinks that OB needs game time, but really how long can you give him when he's this poor. Lees did well at right back, but he's a centre back, what better time to blood him in his preferred position. I'd play Lees at centre back and stick with Connelly at right back. I really like the look of Clayton, bit of everything, but i particularly like his ability to keep posession in a tight situation and buy himself time. We haven't had a midfielder who can do that for some time. Nunez. You can see why he hasn't been getting game time, but also why he's worth persevering with. Quick feet but only one of them works. Kept putting himself in the positions and didn't hide. Not a left winger! McCormack. He's never going to score for fun, but he's the only striker we have at the club who can time and make runs off the last defender... with the right partner/support around him, he will stretch and pull defences out of position. He's a quality footballer in the right team, if we get a system that can bring the best out of him.
That's his role in the team. To play simple passes and be the anchor in the midfield. Clayton stood out, along with Nunez obviously and McCormack looked a different player after his goal - he's got a good right foot on him when he's confident.
how anyone can give OB more than a 1 is beyond me...the worst performance ever! replaced by bromby who was steady..6 connolly and parker poor. dodgy at back and offered little going forward 3 and 4 kissa- tried his best to do the job of the whole defence- 7 brown- was quiet but sometimes in the DM role, thats a sign of a steady game, quietly going about his business of marking tackling and short passing to more attacking players ...6 howson- did well, looking more of a complete midfielder by the game, but should probably have dominated more against L2 opposition...6 clayton- good all round display, passing, vision, composed on the ball, likes a tackle, good engine and nearly scored from range but for a diving save..MOM...8 sam- 2 assists of sort, caused problems, kept possession well, but doesnt look as threatening as someone like gradel who gets the ball and goes straight at the full back, little hesistant at times...7 nunez- worked hard, always wanted the ball, got 2 goals but missed a sitter, looks tricky but playing himout on the left wing its ridiculous when he has no left foot at all!...7 mccormack- 1st half was awful for him but not really his fault, punting long high balls to him will never work, came into the game 2nd half, scored but wasted 2 good opportunities, good movement in behind the defence as well as coming short to link with the midfield, crying out for a strike partner to play off...5
lonergan- hmmmmm, a mixture of excellent distribution, hitting the fullbacks and wingers and some very poor distribution straight out of play, looks good coming out to smother at the strikers feet, perhaps could have saved their 2nd but it was a pure strike that moved a bit....6
Clayton,Howson and McCormack are the only 3 that would get in present team.Kisnorbo and Brown were both good players [warriors] but past there best when we got them.Much stronger now yes Elland IMO.
Lonergran was as good as Silvestri is. Tom Lees and the 34 year old Michael Brown are better than Bamba and the injury feigning one. Howson, Greeycnut and clayton are light years ahead of anything we have now including cook.
Suppose if you were talking about in their prime Kissa n Brown were both not blessed with pace but did the basics well.
