This situation makes me appreciate just how difficult CP's job is. Its hard enough coming to a new country & the most competitive League in the world, then having to deal with this. He deserves more patience from us. I just hope Les understands his responsibility to CP. He needs backing, on more than just a verbal front. Thanks for 6 years service Jose, and for nothing.
This is a big chance for Maya and at least we know his heart is 100 per cent in the game. Come on, Maya.
Yoshida will soon be one of our longest running players. Who would have thought that after his baptism.
I've not listened to Puel's press conference, because, well, I'm operating heavy machinery at the moment. Anyway, has Fonte ruled HIMSELF out of the game... or is it Puel/Reed's decision?
Ok thanks. But I take it many Saints fans have already jumped to the conclusion that.... "FONTE HAS GONE ON STRIKE!!!" I imagine a few have already worked his name to include a swear word as well? These things have to be done. After all, he is pure evil.
It's funny how seemingly nice, reasonable, down to earth Southampton players who serve the club well, suddenly change their personality when another club wants to buy them. Clearly, it's all down to their faults as a human being. Absolutely nothing to do with how the club acts or uses the media.
I admire your loyalty to him. But, for me, he is now just a destabilising influence we can ill afford.
I have no burning loyalty to Jose. I have met him twice, socially, he was very pleasant and open on both occasions during a quick chat. Add to that, his history with the club and quite a lot of things he has done as club captain away from what the saints media team have put out, he seems a nice bloke to me. Would he REALLY have changed that much after the Euros victory? Maybe, but doubtful. Think he's mature enough not to be influenced by a new agent etc, but as per 90% of players in his position, would he have been attracted to a move to Manchester United? Yes, of course! I don't believe Jose would destabilise anything behind the scenes. I can understand not playing him, but there are more problems in the Saints dressing room from others right now (and I don't mean players).
There's a good chance the home crowd will fulfil their roles. Our support is always better when there's less expectation. I haven't heard many crowds as good as ours at making a supportive noise shortly after us letting in a goal. We're a strange bunch.
