Now that would just be taking the proverbial....the only reason for Jose to go there is for massive money (unlikely) or if he was really angry at Saints.

 

I've also heard the Fonte thing to Palace.

No one would hand in their notice without a job lined up, so I'm wondering if Jose meant in the summer and now it has leaked out/been released early.

I was upset that we really wanted to enjoy his big cup win with him and he robbed us of that. I know that some might find that childish, but we were all delighted to see him get a big reward for sticking with us and working hard, but he scarcely acknowledged the crowd.

He asked to leave in the summer just gone I believe but Mendes failed to get his move to United across the line. Now he still wants out but the interest is no longer there. I think Fonte thought he might have to stay which is why he acted as if everything was fine with his instagram posts about the club and "we march on". It is now the club that have taken it public as Fonte made it look as if he was being forced out by not being offered a contract. Now Fonte has been left looking a bit daft as there is little interest in him due to him being 33.

That is my understanding anyway.

 

Remember they could afford £30m for Benteke and can afford £120k pw for Cabaye so Fonte to Palace is a possibility if they are the only club daft enough to pay him what his agent wants and we know Alledyce has history of signing older players on fabulous contracts.......ummmmm

 

Not sure any potential club were making overtures until they suddenly looked up his age on Wikipedia.
