Yep - devastated that Leeds have reached the lofty height of 5th in the 2nd tier - I am so pleased for you - maybe an open top bus is in order
We only do the open top buses when we win a top prize cos were a big club you see. We may have to wait another season or two. Might take a few months for the millions from the Rads Middle East deals to begin filtering through. Only open top buses youll ever see are the ones with spuds or chelsea parading their silverware as they drive past. Still, you can always resort to tossing stones at them as usual
So no open top busses at Leeds for a quarter of a century - surely a mistake as you are such a big club? I'm sure Rads middle east money will stand you in fine fettle - you'll be living that dream if you dare
No living a dream. The Rad knows how to generate income from sport, he has a record for doing so.Google it or look it up on one of your infamously factual sites, Im sure itll be all there. Word of warning though major jealousy alert likely
Happy with a ground share with Bromley soon ? Lol so you've always wanted to be the worst club in London ? Pull the other one TC.
TC, you are falling behind times and values matey, cant fully blame you as you are in the lower depths in league status, i seriously dont think 45M would buy the Leeds squad, one player in particular is going to be a diamond, "Viera" only 18 yrs old and playing way in front of his time, then Pontus the terminator, snip at 3 million, if we get in the Prem he shall be talked about plenty, well over 10 million in those two alone, but as i said i dont blame you on your poor assessment watching the dross you do, week in week out, or do you go these days?
Pontus is on loan so doesn't count towards your squad value and Viera might be good in time, but as it stands not worth much.
C'mon TC calling our players by there first name, agreeing that Viera is a jewel, you are a closet fan are'nt you pal
TC as our new owner has links with Juventus it seems we are now going to be looking after there better academy players and feed them back when they're good enough for the first team. One young kid playing for their reserves who is on his way scored over 120 goals last season, 14 in one match ffs, they reckon hes better than Messi at the same age
Monk doesn't take the Cups seriously? I just don't understand you at all, you constantly try and find fault with arguably one of the best young managers in the game today who has come in and turned our club around to such an extent that people in the game are talking about Leeds being a force in the Prem again .. look at how Monk's teams went for it in the LC, fighting to the bitter end to get wins .. the epic battle against Norwich said it all, this was a Manager and his players who desperately WANTED to progress .. Leeds went out to win every tie they played in, and their desire certainly didn't show any disrespect to the LC last night Leeds once again showed their determination to get across the line, and their "weakened" team fought tooth and nail to win a very difficult tie .. the players did the club proud, and showed the world what the FA Cup is all about .. yes, Monk rotated his squad, but he has used the Cup games wisely, giving his bench players a chance to shine and show what they're made of .. it increases the competition for places when the whole squad gets used properly .. Doukara found his form and confidence thanks to playing in the LC, and last night Grimes and Mowatt looked like players who are ready to contribute to a promotion charge .. Monk's players know they have to perform regardless of the competition, and it shows in the way they've played in all our Cup games Doc's point about the PL teams is correct .. they rotate to the point of no return, with most of them actually welcoming getting knocked out early .. Wenger at least gives it a go, and Conte has also decided he wants to get to Wembley .. the FA Cup doesn't pay anywhere near the money clubs get for being in the Prem, so owners and managers don't care .. there are six clubs realistically chasing a Champions Lge place and the £40m minimum that brings, and the other 14 are trying to make sure they don't go down so they can keep getting the £90m-plus guaranteed "income" just for turning up Doc has got it dead right, give the FA Cup winners a Champions Lge place and see attitudes change very fast ... you though Lover have got it completely wrong about Monk (again) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Seriously Billy, do a search on NewsNow and get everyone's opinion on Grimes, he certainly never showed why he should be picked, he showed why he should have his loan terminated at the earliest opportunity, I watched it, he was atrocious
Jeez Billy, bit slow coming out with that accusation aren't you, try and keep up, I look forward to the next one, whatever it will be. If Monk took the cup games seriously then he'd field a full strength team wouldn't he? or at least a very strong team with only 2 or 3 changes. All Monk is doing is doing the same as the PL teams, but in championship. I've never said anything about the players not trying. Monk fielding a second string team means he'll do same in PL if we get promoted, and that's a worry, then what is their to play for, money, a top 6 position. Playing to finish in PL top 6, league cup and FA cup is 3 chances to get into Europe, and generate more money for club, fielding a second string team in cup games reduces the opportunities of getting into Europe down to one; is it better to have 3 opportunities, or 1 opportunity, I know what most would say, in any sport. While Monk at moment is doing a good job, he has also shown flaws. He hasn't achieved anything yet, he hasn't got us over the line and promoted. There are many athletes that run around in circles at the front of the pack race after race after race, only to get beaten close to line or drop away. Maybe we should wait and see if he can get us over the final hurdles before claiming he's one of the best young managers in game today, Swansea obviously didn't think so. You obviously love Monk, you're entitled too and I respect that, but I disagree with a lot of what you say about him at moment. Same was said about Grayson, McDee and Redders, they're not here for obvious reasons. I'll wait and see what he delivers first, and for the record, I don't hate him, and never said I did, but I do disagree with some of what he does. Let's be honest, for most games so far the football hasn't been brilliant, and that's not a foundation we need for PL if we get promoted. You loving Monk is no reason for you to attack others who have a different opinion, even though it seems to be only me, water off a duck's back. Personally, I still think Monk plays his favourites.......
Monk plays his favourites yet we are sitting in the playoffs? So who would you take out of our best side then? How is it every manager is playing 'his favourites' just because they don't play the players you, for some weird reason, like more than others? Have you ever thought its because the players he doesn't pick are nowhere near the level of the ones who have got us as high as 4th place? Honestly, with all malice intended, your a ****ing clown.
I think Gary Monk is our first manager in a long time that has turned our squad into something like a team with scope and promise for improvement.
I agree WC, but my point is, he hasn't achieved anything yet, we ain't over line or been promoted yet; if we miss out on promotion it becomes a different story. Blackwell got us into playoff finals, we couldn't get over last hurdle, Grayson got us promoted from L1, but only just after we took a big dive in form and gave away an 11 point lead to Norwich, but couldn't get us promoted in championship. I ain't putting all my eggs in one basket just yet......
Why don't you save some credibility and actually respond and tell us who Monk's favourites are and who you would play instead?
Cant agree. He has achieved arguably a lot more than any manager of the last decade. Has made astute signings and improved players already at the club immeasurably. Add to that, the team spirit and no disharmony in the dressing room, an extra 10k at every home game and job so far has been immense. He may not win promotion this season but regardless, hes done more than enough for me to want to see him still in charge in three years. There were others here and elsewhere that werent mad about him at the start but sometimes you just have to hold up your hand and admit you were wrong and move on.Rome wasnt built in a day
