We have easy access here to most English brands, including Ringtons. After much research, we have definitively concluded that Walmart's own Great Value label makes the tastiest cupcakes, as well as the cheapest. Liptons, at more than twice the price, makes the worst. PS, "cupcakes" is the autocorrect version of "cuppa". You can choose whether or not you think that's "funny".
Then again the Septics don't have a cheese worthy of the name, and they have the worst chocolate in the world in Hersheys. Or is that called 'candy' or 'cocoa chips' or summat?
Ye ha !! Now looka here have we gotten ourselves a mighty fine transatlantic argument here. What the hell in tarnations going on.?
Pretty much fully agree, though some Wisconsin versions of others' famous cheeses are quite palatable. Google "Jungle Jim's Cincinnati". It's 10 minutes from here, and we can get cheese, chocolate ... almost any fresh or processed foodstuffs from almost anywhere in the world, at very reasonable prices. All the sausage rolls had gone when we went there just before Christmas, though!
Now you can't beat a nice sausage rolls. I had a lovely Pork and Apple one in Vanessa's in Beverly today. Also a nice cup of Coffee plus 2 mince pies with proper fresh cream.. £5,45. Totally splendid.
You find that in the redneck boondocks, not in a city of culture like Cincinnati. My 93-year-old mother goes every week in 'Ull. She told me this morning it's really quite difficult with her walking stick -- she tends to trip up other people as well as herself.
I was going to say that they take their tea like they take their ballroom blitz - sweet. Having looked at Sweet's discography I see they had a song called "little willy". I'll leave it there.
I saw him too, and in fact I inadvertently parked next to "polo guy". Don't suppose he noticed my HCST sticker in the rear window. Was one of his companions the owner of the orange Lamborghini parked there? I had a decaf latte. Surreal weekend for meeting famous people - passed John Prescott outside HRI yesterday - he's not looking well at all and walking with a stick.
You shouldn't be buying sausage rolls Jools - they're piss easy to make and taste 100x better than any shop bought one. Choose any flavours you want, my favourite is 75% NON-pickled chorizo & 25% Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire sausage meat ones are tasty stand-bys, make some ... you know you want to. PS You need to add bread crumb or they set too hard.
Trust your mum is as well as can be expected at that age. My Hull mum reached 92 a little shy of her 2 elder sisters who came to Aus just after the end of WW1. One reached 95 and the other 105. Not bad for a family of 13 kids brought up in a dockside terrace in East Hull with the labourer father unemployed for half his working life.
Jeeeez! Sounds like there's a movie script in there! Yes, me mam is still sprightly, but she's recently become very repetitive in our weekly conversations. As I'm sure you understand, there's more I could say, but not on here. Stay well, stay happy, stay positive, ... and nil illegitimi carborundum.
