I couldn't give a monkeys where his best days were.
You asked a question and I gave you an answer.
You asked, how many Liverpool players have lifted trophies as a manager?
Matt Busby is a ex Liverpool player who lifted trophies as a manager and it doesn't matter who he lifted them with.He lifted them.
The most successful manager of all time Bob Paisley won the league with Liverpool as a player.

KPR you brng up the busby statue every 10 minutes in this thread. Dont you realise nobody cares he captained Liverpool? You dont think maybe the 1141 games for which he managed United might be the reason he has a statue? I think he did enough to redeem himself for those years. Also you include the years in which there was no football 1941-45 in your statistics, perhaps it is because the statistic does not look as impressive when it is 5 years at liverpool and 24 at united?

Well do you not have a statue of a former Liverpool skipper outside your ground?...yes you do. You must be upset that your beloved Matt played for the club you hate most. You've responded to it. Then again he got his education at the best place ever...Anfield. Until United take that statue down...or Liverpool stick up a statue of a former United captain...Man United will remain in Liverpools shadow.
    As for your 19.
Our response is the European Cup you won in 1999 is situated in the Liverpool trophy room. You can go visit it if you want.
We own the European Cup as a big club...small clubs like yourselves only have plastic replicas.

Surely it hurts more to know that your former captain turned down the chance to manage Liverpool and said he would rather manage your greatest rivals? That's a Michael Owen-esque slap in the face to Liverpool fans. Then again, maybe it shows which of the two clubs players and managers would be more likely to choose...

Gordon Strachan was a success at Celtic. United seem to make a larger number of decent managers - Keane, Coppell, McIlroy, Bruce, Ritchie, Robson and Darren Ferguson all managed clubs to promotions in their respective divisions - but Liverpool make a smaller number of better managers. The only ex Liverpool player I can think of who won silverware as a manager, apart from the three already mentioned, is Souness and he's no better than some of the Utd ones I mentioned above imo.

KPR you seemed to be obsessed with Busby's statue, so ask youself the question when all the "Tourists" (that's paraphasing you) visit O.T. do you think that they look at the statue and say "Ooh there's Busby the jock who once captained Liverpool!" or are they more likely to say " There's the legend Busby the man who created the modern Manchester United, reverrred around the world by the masses for all he did for UNITED"?

they might hear an Irish accent in the background saying "Yeah but he captained Liverpool for 5 years before he went to United"

to which they will reply " And?"

The response was more directed to how repetitive you are. It doesn't upset me at all as my previous post stated

Bullshit. He spent 3 years at anfield. He spent more time at city.

Umm why? That makes no sense.

Since we're recycling comments now, isn't it strange Liverpool stopping winning league titles once the pass back law was introduced?

Players can and do still pass the ball back to the keeper.

Players can and still do pass the ball back Yes/No?

We've won trophies before and since the rule change, but obviously have'nt been good enough to be league champions since our last title win.

    Next!

Seeing as it was so easy to win the league when you could pass the ball to the keeper and he could pick it up,and this applied to all clubs not just Liverpool. So why didn't Man United win it?
Tell us again why between 1969-1992,Man United didn't win the league and for the supposeably biggest club in the universe got relegated in 1974.
Liverpool may not have won the league since 1990,but they have not finished lower than 8th in that time.
Man Uniteds lowest position between 1969-1992 was division two and more often than not finished lower than 8th. Finishing 8th for them was a good season.

    Answer the question.
Seeing as it was so easy to win the league under the old back-pass rule. Why is it that Man United between 1969-1992 didn't win it,and managed to get relegated in 1974. They have also done far worse than Liverpools lowest finish between 1990-2011 which was 8th.
I know the reason why they got relegated in 1974..their only good player Bestie was serving a 3 month prison sentence for drink driving, assault and jumping bail. He was also inside in 1984.

    "but what about now"

We have'nt been good enough to win the league just like utd were'nt until 92,unlike utd we have'nt been relegated as utd were and we've been european champions since our last domestic title win.
