Pundits banging on about the extra game :emoticon-0114-dull:. FFS we'll probably play the same ****ing team, so its going to make **** all difference.

Don't see why the big clubs should take this stage seriously, take it seriously when there is a real chance of winning it, until then who cares. The FA cup lost its premier status when the FA allowed the EPL to become the be all and end all, Prem clubs want to ensure they stay in the Prem, try to win it or get top 4.
There's also no real reward for winning it, a Europa league place just isn't appealing (like winning the Europa league wasn't appealing till last year)

Don't you have to get through the first few stages to get to that point?

But it extends their unbeaten run and they can afford to drop points with no one challenging them for the 6th place trophy

Sorry Frank, I just don't gamble. Used to have 50p on the Grand National but have even kicked that into touch for the last few years.

Agree, too many "big" matches end up being a let down, that is between all top teams.

Still in for now so happy enough, I think that extra game gives those youngsters more expressive so all good. As long as we win.

I promised to come back with the opinion on some of your players you asked me for moreinjuredthanowen but only if we didn't get dicked. I think a 0 - 0 qualifies as not being dicked so here I am.

I'm guessing having read a few of the comments since the game that nobody on Merseyside are particularly happy with the way this went. Some of my friends who saw it aren't that happy either because they argued it doesn't show Argyle in a very good light in that they never tried to win it. Now I'm sorry to say that I'm not one of them. What Argyle did today was play for exactly what they got a return match at home. The manager set them up with instructions on how to play and they performed his instructions to perfection. I told you before that cash was king and a replay will get us another £300k or thereabouts. Small change for a premiership club but a years wages for 4 players at this level with the replay money alone. It is not the job of a league 2 side to go to a premiership club and entertain the crowd or TV audience. It is their job to do the best for their club fullstop. The onus for entertainment is on the home club as it's predominantly their crowd not ours.

Now for the players you named. There is no way anyone could have an opinion on your keeper. He had nothing to do so didn't even ruffle his hair. The standout player was Woodburn the youngest one on the pitch. I thought he did well and certainly has a future. Can we borrow him please? The rest of them were a bit clueless at times without playing badly. No end product is the worry. Those players will not win you games. Then again, when you made 3 subs it made no difference to anything so that should be a worry. Maybe we had bored them to death whilst they were watching. The winners today were our defence. They had the plan and stuck to it throughout without too much trouble. We do have a reasonable defence but rarely have they managed to snuff out the opposition totally. If you play the same side down here then you may well win it just the same but it will be harder. The critics are right in that at some point we will have to come out and play. I think though you do need a better mixture of youth and experience. Look forward to round 2.
