Only just crossed my mind that we've yet to concede in this competition... Keep that going and it will be a good result
This will be just like when we played Liverpool at home in the league cup last year with a subtle difference. We won't score so it will be 6-0 rather than 6-1
He won't. He'll be seduced by a dusky Scouse siren, and next time you see him he'll be playing along side Sadio et al. Just wanted to reflect the positive spirit of this thread.
Come on, we need more positivity in this thread. We can win this one. Our defenders are in a rich vein of goalscoring form. We should have the twelfth man if we raise the roof. It's not only the best chance for fans to get to Wembley but the players too. We will want this more than Liverpool who have 2 massive premier league games coming up. And come on we beat arsenal away. Really think we will win this one. If behind for the second leg though klopp will crank up his team at anfield.
Depends how far they go, I expect they will get through their group but don't know enough about African football to know how fancied they are beyond that. The actual tournament doesn't start until (I think) the 14th. I'd say 1st week of Feb at best.
Well said, that man. Having cancelled my trains, I'll start walking now. Seriously, I do wonder. Am I apprehensive. Of course. I was terrified before the semi-finals against Palace and Watford. I would be nervous if we were playing the Chandler's Ford under 11s reserves. Fans should be wound up. It's a bloody Cup semi-final and we don't get to many. I am going to shout myself stupid and enjoy! LL, if you're on the Northam let's hear you, mate!!
I tried with my first post to be positive but got no real response bar a like from OROW and a United fan I too think the fans have a big part to play in this, let's try and make it as intimidating as possible and keep the noise going past the first 10/15 minutes. I'll be in the Northam right next to the away fans singing my heart out anyway. Their struggling for form a bit at the moment and have a few injury issues themselves. If Henderson doesn't play that will be a big plus. Even if Coutinho does he (hopefully) won't be fully fit and firing. Think Matip might be a doubt too but not 100% sure on that. Will need to keep Sturridge quiet though. All in all I think we're playing them at a good time. Sunderland managed a draw last week and they're shocking. They're still heavy favourites over the 2 legs of course but I don't think it's the lost cause some make it out to be. Key for me is it to keep it a tight cagey affair.
It does annoy me that Sturridge always manages to ensure that he's fit for when we play Liverpool. That 6-1 last season was practically the only game he kicked a ball in for 6 months.
Don't worry mate you will! At last years game I was proud of the fans (still there) in the last 15 or so mins with non stop OWTS carrying on through one of their goals - away support were shocked by that I was about 5 rows from the front and most around me had left, there was only me and some random guy singing within a 15/20 seat radius around us... it was the only period of the tie we weren't asked to sit down What block/row are you in mate? You should try make the pub
Yeah me too "Now listen here Oriol, you have a very important job to do within the first 10 minutes..."
Quick question for those of you who have a season ticket and purchased this game. Do they send you the ticket (if not I haven't got it) and if not is it print at home or uploaded to your season ticket? EDIT: Of course we are all returning them now or cancelling them as we are going to lose and no point in going
Mine was uploaded to membership* so I'd assume anyone with a card would have it loaded on there regardless... *The membership that they've sent out 3 times and I never recieved that is. So went down there on Friday and got a paper one printed off (and my membership card as well). I prefer paper tickets anyway.
