Has the game changed? I hadn't noticed, they still tend to use a round object and a bit of grass. Considering all the pampering of "modern footballers" then by the very nature of the "sports science" they should be producing professional athletes who can cope with the demands of "modern football". So are Saints training methods not that good if so many of our squad can't play two games in 7 days?

Arsenal, Man Utd, City or Chelsea do appear to have slightly bigger & better squads than Saints.

Does the current Southampton squad contain a raft of in-form players beating down the door to be picked (and put pressure on the existing first team) ?? I'd say no. We have an average squad, that when we get a few injuries, soon looks pretty weak and over-reliant on youngsters.

Like being back at school on here sometimes, why bother making a comment and then just get mocked for it?

Do you not think you're being a little over sensitive? You complain you get 'shouted down' but all I can see (take your comments yesterday) is people disagreeing.

If you have an opinion to throw out there, great, it should be encouraged - that's what a forum is for - but if you put it out there, expectvthose that disagree with it to speak up and for youbto have to defend your point, or explain how you reached it.

Difference of opinion is fine, but as I said the other day it's the sarcastic little comments that really piss me off, after you've tried to put a valid point across.

What you should appreciate is that when you get a response, it may be a serious response or someone just pulling your leg. Unless I say so specifically, and provide facts, it is usually the latter from me and I doubt that I am alone in that. Read what it says at the bottom of my posts.

    Fair point.

Honestly though, the only time I have ever, ever thought that someone on here was taking a bit of an unfair kicking/being bullied was Tom after one game where he was being mercilessly battered about some refereeing point or other. I've probably taken the mick out of Ian a little too much at one stage and told myself off for it (I think he put me on ignore, which is fine too). But other than that, I honestly just don't see it.

You, and everyone else on here, have to accept that there is a huge difference between someone disagreeing with your opinion and "shouting you down". The whole point of this forum is to accommodate a wide range of opinions. In fact if everyone agreed on everything there wouldn't be any point in having a forum at all. BUT, you, and everyone else, have to be ready to be disagreed with, which can sometimes take the form of a passionate and well-reasoned discourse, and sometimes a piss-take. All that is perfectly fine. The one thing that isn't allowed is personal abuse aimed at your characte, beliefs, or physical form. As a moderator, I will take action against that if I see it or if it's reported to me, and the other mods will do the same.

But please, people, don't confuse disagreement with bullying or shouting down. They aren't the same thing. Never have been, never will.

No actually. I've never seen one of the traditional 'happy clappers' complain about being shouted down or bullying. Just an observation.

Ahhh no I'm not saying that, I've never see anything like that on here. I'm just saying sometimes it feels people deliberately leave a comment quite happily knowing that the person will more than likely bite on it and that's when the mini arguments start.

Thus far this season, I can totally understand the need to rotate players, in order to maintain freshness in the team, during periods when we have been routinely playing every 3/4 days.
After January, when we will be playing fewer games, I would expect the amount of rotation to reduce and our strongest team to be put out every week, depending on fitness.

As I said, isn't that the whole point of a forum? By definition, no one ever has the last word!

Point of the forum is debate, not to try and get reactions out of people.
