I know When are our fans going to realise it just motivates them to play better? How many times do they have to see it before the penny drops?
Doubt Countinho will start. Will have been back in training for under a week after a long injury. They'll be hoping he will be back to feature against United at the weekend but that's still not a certainty. With them missing mane and countinho we have a little bit more hope!
90 minutes of noise and support? Not devoting the whole match to abuse at ex-players? These are Saints fans we're talking about right?!
Just love that Channon windmill, and the Wallace goal of 84 is still breathtaking. Better still no mention of the 87 semi final (oops)
Going for a narrow home win - Pool will be slightly understrength because they will be saving players for Utd; we will be pumped because the players will be annoyed after conceding late against Norwich and Pool will be overconfident because we are s%*te at the moment. QED !! Added to which writing the above makes me feel happier....
It is, if only because I had a rush of blood to the head and bought a ticket for the return leg at Anfield. I like Liverpool, one of my favourite English Cities, but I don't really want to go there on a Wednesday in January if we are already dead and buried. Are we capable of keeping a clean sheet at St Marys anymore? If so, let's do that.
We can win this. Play the way we did in the first 15 minutes against Spurs. Suspect Liverpool defence andwe can take full advantage.
Well that would be very nice. But I've wanted that since day one, and never got it. Maybe this will finally be different.
If someone starts a chant of "Dejan Lovren, what a....", I cannot in all honesty promise not to join in. Sorry.
Got my ticket for this one and am stoked! Separate competition to PL so let's forget about those 3 losses and play with positivity! Same team as OP, but is boufal injured.
Looking at the Liverpool U23's team today, their first team will be nice and fresh for Wednesday. GREAT
Still don't think it will be full first team. Half and half is my bet. You can guarantee they'll have one eye on OT.
you're right. we have a whole days rest more than Liverpool (except no-one who plays today will play on Wednesday)
We have to win. Failure will mean being forced to leave my wife of over 50 years, buy a small flat in Southampton and refuse to answer the phone to well meaning but ultimately piss taking Liverpool supporting friends and family. No pressure, Claude
