Well, yeah that is sort of a good example to go with my point.

Juanmi wasn't that bad a transfer. Yes, it didn't work out for either us or him but we didn't spend much on him and recouped some of that. We lost out a bit on wages but neither juanmi or ciciretti would have that high wages. So even if they are useless we wouldn't have lost out on much like in the cases of Osvaldo or ramirez.

Every transfer carries a risk, but when the transfer fee and wages paid are really low then so is the risk. So in this situation we have minimal risk with the possibility that the player might turn out to be good.

Even if it's true, it's actually one of their least ludicrous offers this month so far. Which says everything about them.

The latter, I'm just not sure whether intentional or not. Getting a brand new stadium for just £2.5m per year has maybe clouded their judgement. In many ways, it does seem perverse that you would have to offer more for a Hull player than to get one of the biggest stadium's in the country.

A lot of fans question our transfer policy of buying (relatively) unknown talent and then selling them on for triple the price. But I think we can all agree that it's a relief we don't conduct business like West ham!

Whether it be lack of knowledge of football or whether it be sheer desperation; the bids for Defoe, Snodgrass and apparently a loan for Long are just absolutely ridiculous.

I was just warming the car up to collect our Shane. Picking him up from Toys-R-Us with Stratford loaded in the navigation unit of my bicycle and side car...

That doesn't mean we don't have the right to question it though, just that there is another way to do your business. I think we could quite easily keep our policy but be like Dortmund and say only one player will leave maximum, the moment that happens then the shop is shut.

The West Ham bids are not desperation, they know exactly what they're doing. They most certainly aren't tight for cash either, sitting cushty in the tax payers stadium, stewards and security etc provided for them. And though they play a different game, I don't doubt their football knowledge either.
They're the epitome of slimey and devious. If they can unsettle players at other clubs and pick up those players for a pittance they will use all their underhand dirty tactics to achieve this. About time Redknapp went back there isn't it?

Ahh that was an enjoyable rant. I feel better now.

True, it was more of a "it could be worse" statement than "we are perfect".

I often defend the club and like to remain realistic in terms of players leaving. But I agree if we want to step up and continue to grow we need to stem the flow and perhaps what you suggested is a good idea. Although it is not always viable due to contracts. Take this summer for example, if we could only sell one it would mean either Wanyama would leave for free at the end of this season or we would sell mane for about £15m rather than £36m.

It'll take more than a relegation! They need a change in owners to become a decent club again.
