The atmosphere has been pretty good anyway at the last few home league games I certainly don't expect anything different against Bournemouth
Spot on Happy. If the idiot Phelan could only have seen what 95% of the posters on here and our supporters in the stands have seen for months...that Jak should have been our starting GK and is far better than Marshall...we could easily have had over 20 points right now and been comfortably above the relegation zone. Now that we have, by all reports, a top class GK coach and Manager , I cannot believe that Jak will lose his place for League games. Even with our makeshift back line today we kept our first shutout in months when Jak was also in goal, and if Man U. on Tuesday goes to penalties I'd bet on Jak to bring us another win. The first thing I looked for on the BBC line up was if Jak was in goal. I knew when I saw his name we had a great chance of winning this one. And I hope Josh keeps his place on Tuesday too with Robbo LWB. For the first time in quite a while I'm feeling excited about our season again. Well done Marco...and all the lads!!!
lets not get too carried away - for the first hour we were dire, and so were Swansea. Neither team looked like scoring. But credit to Silva for the substitutions, and we were playing better by the end. But still not great. Highlights for me: - jakupovic really does whip up the fans and gets animated, great to see him back - Tymon's goal. Stuff of dreams for him. - the whole team (including jakupovic) celebrating with Tymon. - Jak (again) coming over to thank the fans at the end.
Ok...sorry...I forgot. Lets hope we can keep it close for the second leg when we should have all our first teamers back...and Jak in goal!!!
Honestly this is why the majority of people prefer him to Marshall, he's just very likeable. People will claim he's a better goalkeeper, but there's really not much between them, he's just more passionate and people like that.
That pillock who was ref gave our players no protection what so ever. The standard of reffing this year has been nothing short of diabolical. Anyway the positives, Jak saved more shorts in the last two cup games than Marshall has all season. Jak has a gaf in him and can't kick but at the moment just seams to be in the right place at the right time. Meyler had a cracking game I even thought his crossing was good. Hernandez looked up for it he's a far superior forward to what we have. We need him fit till the end of the season. Finally, can anyone play centre half?
Yeah, there is absolutely no point to the observation that the last two clean sheets we've had have been while Jak was in goal and that both times he produced saves that Marshall is yet to make on a regular basis.
