not willing to take a risk i reckon. he cost southampton a decent amount but they had taken in a shedload of cash so it was pretty risk free for them. Its the risk of his attitude which was well flagged and not working hard enough and playing in scotland that paid for southampton.

They took the risk and get the reward. the think is a LOT of koeman signing have not worked out after that first year so.... they look brilliant don't they.. bt is anyone queueing up for claise and long and austin?

To be fair Austin was cheap as chips, less than 10m and he's decent for that level. The others are solidish players good enough for lower half and they were all relatively cheap. No ones really missed out and if the were to sell everyone on they'd probably break even.

for me Matip and Van Dijk would be a jimmy style jizzfest. Its a truely sexy thought IMO. Van dijk's pace and size would make him an brilliant attack dog defender while matip has already shown me several games where he's been calm and organsing and swept up behind either lovern or klavan.

In the end van dork and fonte are not both going are they? saints only have 24 points. they would be MAD to sell both players up.

LFC dream is fonte not to play midweek due to transfer request and someone to bid on van dork the day before the game.

I think we SHOULD beat southampton over two legs but are weakened right nwo so and very happy to see anything destabilise them right before the semi.
 
Hardly a relevation is it.

Most managers would be spending all season sat in the stands if they was allowed to be honest about the refs.

True but they were 7th and 6th looking up so theyve gone backwards as a result
 
Southampton are set to move for Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho in January.

That is according to French outlet L'Equipe, who say Saints are keen to recruit the 26-year-old after skipper Jose Fonte handed in a transfer request at St Mary's.
Sakho fell out with boss Jurgen Klopp in pre-season and is behind Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan in the centre-half pecking order at Anfield.

Stoke and West Brom made offers for Sakho in January, while Galatasaray, Inter and AC Milan have all been linked with a move for the Frenchman

I would love Fonte, he would cost buttons and see us for a few years. Hes very solid, rarely makes mistakes.

He makes his CB partner look better because they are allowed to do what they want because they know he is always there to mop up. Him and Matip in the centre would be rock solid.
