20 million English pounds... Crazy money. Prob getting that figure mixed up with the Dembele fee (which apparently Wet Spam never bid anyway). However if we could sell him for that it would feel like Long all over again, as we'd need to be able to replace him with someone of equal quality whilst still having money left over to spend on someone else.

Celtic say no official bid has been received and even if West Ham do bid £20m, they'll reject it. A West Ham statement earlier in the week said “To that end, a bid of £20m – a figure close to the club’s all-time transfer record – was submitted for a player from Scotland.”, Everyone assumed it was Dembele, but the Mirror are claiming that the player is actually Snodgrass. They'd have to be mental to bid that much,
I know its just the rumour mill, but read on Claret and Hugh that Elmo is also on West Spams radar along with Snodgrass...
£20m is a fair price. It seems a lot, but after the half season he's had in a team like ours, how much would we say we'd have to shell out for him if we were buying? Think about how much other players are costing. It's not as out of proportion as it first seems.
I get your point. People get excited by these fees and say 'bite their hand off' but even if Silva was given it all to spend would we really get similar value out of that? £20m gets you Marshall and Mason these days.
I agree. At £20m I'd sell and buy two or three additions. There has to be some bargains around. I'd rather not sell to West Ham though. I still see them struggling this season, so I wouldn't want to strengthen any of our likely relegation rivals.
