In your opinion. Those that go all over the country and to every game and have done so for a good many years might think differently. Your opinion is only your opinion our club is for all supporters.
We'll be publishing an open letter to Silva tomorrow, helpfully written on our behalf by one of our members, with a message along these lines and welcoming him to the club. Why would there be? Even when there isn't a boycott on, our ground is the emptiest in the Premier League. What a strange claim that is.
So be it. Good to see the sharp perspective of the Trust remains. You are missing a huge opportunity. You fail to see that this is about the support and the ****ed up owners, far more than it is about Silva and the team. Sad and visionless..
Presumably a lot of effort has gone into encouraging a boycott initiative. As Fez has suggested, why not communicate to Silva & those supporters you've targeted already that you'll suspend the boycott to show solidarity with his arrival & mission ? At the same time avoid antagonizing the Allams. The latter may well jeopardize any potential sales negotiations given recent history ?
Hi Marco Were really important. We represent err err about half our members dont go. Unless they get a free ticket which is ok. And err welcome.
During my evening out in Hull, I got a glance at the letter someone has written to Silva on behalf of the trust (sorry, I wasn't really paying attention and I don't remember who wrote it) and I think it's rather good.
Why don't all the apologists and those who don't want to take any action for fear of upsetting anyone (the Allams) just shut the **** up?
Why doesn't the **** who made a big song n dance about not going to the first game of the season, or any other homes games, then decides he's in hull and fancys going and has been ever since just shut the **** up??
Why would anyone care that small clubs in Leagues 1 and 2 get smaller crowds than us? If we got sub 5,000 it'd definitely look bad. The relevant question is whether we will get that few. Looks like about 4,000 may have been sold, so adding away fans and a few last minute sales there could be a bit more there than that. With the Allam coefficient added it could be reported as 10,000 of course.
Because in my opinion that'd be daft. The reasons for the boycott have not been addressed just because we've got a cool new manager in. A serious organisation can't just go flipping it's stance 180 degrees for the flimsiest of reasons. Other people who've commited to boycott and donated their ticket money to charity already may not be impressed.
This^ To be honest I think the call for a boycott was a difficult one for the Trust, and then having decided to do it, picking the right game was equally difficult There were enough opinions on here at the time, and still, to make that clear Having picked a position I think it's important that they (we) stick to our guns It might not be right, it might be. That's the thing with really difficult problems...if there was a right answer it would have simply been chosen without the need for debate Anyway if members feel strongly enough that it's the wrong decision they can leave the Trust, or they can look to take an influential role in the Trust to change things...and if non members think it's the wrong decision they can either ignore it because it hasn't been done in their name, or they can join and look to take an influential role in the Trust to change thingsy can join and look to take an influential role in the Trust to change things Whatever you decided weeks ago about whether to go or not is still the right decision (IMHO)
