I still have a feeling that Escab is reading statements out someone else has wrote. Still hoping its down to new owners coming in. I think the Allams would have kept Phelan as a cheaper option. Could be 100% wrong
That was my point, on another thread - it seems to me as being beyond the wit of Eeyore. All the main playing staff have gone - Coach, Scout, etc. - which gives Hi-Ho a clean slate... It's way beyond the nous of the Allams, surely... There must be another power involved in this. A new owner in the wings?
personally very excited for the new style of play he will bring. lets hope it is also enough to get the 7 wins needed. our next few fixtures are very difficult so he has time to get his ideas in place without to much pressure as we are expected to lose these
It'll be interesting as we've brought in a gaffer who is used to winning, he should come with a lot of positivity and a lot of confidence in his chances at turning us around. I can see why he's been brought in. Develops players, good in the market and doesn't spend a fortune
I agree. Such a massive upheaval within the club for a 6 month gig...no chance. Somethings going on here.
The 8 remaining winnable games for me are:- Home. Bournemouth, Burnley, Swansea, Boro , Watford, Sunderland. Away. Leicester,Palace. A couple of bonus points at either Everton, Stoke or Saints. Sorted.
Sacking Phelan was the right decision as we was guaranteed to go down with him in charge. West Brom away really pissed me off the way we fell away. This month we've only got Bournemouth as a winnable game but our run in is reasonable. 25th Feb - 21st May only Man city & Tottenham are the only un- winnable games in my eyes.
If you aren't excited about this there's summat wrong with you. Doesn't mean he will be a success but it's definitely an exciting appointment. Hi ho Silva
Of course we should all be excited! For the first time in our history we've got a young, european and exciting manager with a very good track record. What worries is all is whats happening in the background... even taking away the sale of the club, concessions, lack of information etc... the dark cloud in todays ray of sunshine is the length of contract for the new manager and backroom staff. There's a few ways this can go, and really the best we can hope for is that he keeps us up. After that he's basically free to leave and join any other club, and lets face it, if he keeps us up they'll be lots of clubs after him. Where does that then leave us? Without a manager and absolutely no backroom staff... Like I said its a time to be excited but what lurks around the corner worries me....
There may be an option on an extension. Our Portuguese fan (HFP?) said it was for 18 months with a get-out at 6 months if we're relegated. Maybe that didn't happen, though.
Completely unexcited. Only the Allams getting out my club will excite me. I don't give a **** where the manager is from or how pretty his football is, it's all superficial nonsense. We had a very good manager who was forced out at the during the transfer window. We then became the last club in the country out of 92 to sign someone, and we signed 6 players in 36 messy hours, as our owners tied the hands of our new 'Head Coach'. Casebook study of how not to run a successful football club. It's wrong decision after wrong decision after wrong decision with the current Vice Chairman. Why would anyone think he's got this one right? He systematically ****s it up and falls it out with all his managers, usually about money/transfers. I look forward to his reaction when Leonard Silva speaks to the Press about his transfer budget. Pennock has gone too today. Is there anyway left at the club to manage the transition from the former staff to the new Portuguese ones? Probably not, they've all left. People are queueing up to work for a PL club, except at ours where they're rushing to get out and work on a lower league. Good luck to Silva and his team, its a tall order but if he can get them playing for him and get some luck, we might do it. But if we get rid at the end of his 6 months contract , who the **** will be left at Hull City to run it? Absentee toxic owners and min wage office staff, no one else.
I feel genuinely excited by the appointment, however its like being on a sinking ship and being rescued by an olympic swimmer. Unfortunately the ship is in the middle of the atlantic ocean, so no matter how good a swimmer the rescuer is I feel the chances of survival are very slim indeed. O/T - Listening to Humberside, where the **** do they get these ******s from who phone up miserable ****s.
i like the sound of a manager who favours slick flowing attacking football. i don't like the reality of a manager who plays one up front. i'm not impressed by a manager who favours a goalie who's conceded 2.44 goals per game over one who's conceded 1.29 per game.
