Poch should use this as a training video on exactly how to react in such a situation. It made Costa look stupid and if one wants to retaliate, don't do it immediately, wait until the twat gets the ball and chop him then.
I like Conte. He's a class manager. Make no mistake, he'll have learned from that. He knows other sides will have paid close attention to the way we shut them down and that they will try to emulate that. Now he has to find a way around those tactics....
The Saturday 12:30 kick off v West Brom means if we win we'll be up into second for at least a day, Loserpool don't play at Manure until 16:00 on the Sunday and if the Chavs struggle at Leicester, we could even be within 4 points of the top. COYS!!!!
'Neck brace for Azpilicueta?' Just so proud of the lads for last night's performance. Showed the maturity that had been lacking this past year and instead of finding one or two leaders out there, we had about 10!! Now let's kick on!! COYS!!!
What. A. ****ing. Night. I noticed on the Chelsea board they put this was our cup final and you know what, they were absolutely right (for this season). Usually as Spurs fans, the NLD's are our cup finals as I'm sure Arsenal fans would agree too but with the animosity and recent results at the Bridge the past couple games, this was something that meant a lot to us and revenge was definitely on the fans and the players minds. CK predicted the formation spot on and if it leads to more results against the top sides like that then I pray you're correct every time mate! We essentially beat Chelsea with their own formation (yes, I know we played this formation last year at Watford). Our lads showed just how much they wanted to right the wrongs of the 2-2 and then 2-1, in both games we had spells as the better side and yet in both games we didn't get the results we wanted/ deserved. This time around every Spurs player on that pitch gave the attitude of they'd rather die than lose this game and it was fantastic to watch. Wanyama especially was superb in my opinion, he was up against two of the best CM/DM's in the business and outdone the pair of them with what looked like sheer ease at times. A monster of a performance from our big Kenyan and what a signing he's proving to be. The crosses from Eriksen for both of Alli's header's were amazing and the headers - especially the first - complimented them superbly. We made the night even more special in the crowd, I can't think of many better atmosphere's down the Lane, to say it was rocking was an understatement, even for about 3-4 minutes into half time where most take a seat or go for a beer, Alli's song was still ringing around the ground. Graham Roberts was the half time interviewee and gave a passionate speech about the club which got a nice reception. When Fabregas came on it was brilliant around our part (warning, excessive and aggressive language used! Lol). First off we started singing "he's coming for you, he's coming for youuu, Eric Dier, he's coming for you!" and then at one point when the pair were in close proximity, cries of "Dier, kill the ****, Dier, Dier kill the ****!" went out . Then we started singing "you can stick your ****ing record up your arse!" and then to top it all off the now famous "You're ****!" (Hey Jude) got a great rendition. Absolutely fantastic night and something we really deserved, something we also really owed Chelsea. Well done lads, COYS!
Anyone else think that Dembele playing 60-70 mins with Winks replacing him (like last night) is a sensible way forward as this would hopefully protect Mousa a bit and prevent his niggling injuries?
And bring on Winks. When circumstances allow, it's a good plan. I'd rather understand why Mousa struggles with injuries though. 2 injuries early in the game will be a big problem if one of our players struggles to the end.
It sounded as if we had cloned our away fans. From what I heard on the TV it was not only the team's best performance of the season, it was also the crowd's.
Was I alone in being too scared to watch it? Don't have Sky Sports and struggle with the links to pirate copy (technically, not morally) but even so, the tension was too much. Just watched my phone for score updates. Got to say 9:30 to 9:50 lasted about 2 hours. Finally see that FT 2:0 notification was a great moment.
Looking forward to @O.Spurcat take on the game. Not MP's biggest fan #cough# but surely he will have been delighted by last night's performance.
This just popped up on my Twitter time line. Although the vid is very clear and sounds great, it still doesn't even do it justice for the noise we made.
I was fine till about 2 hours to go. Then I had to get myself busy till KO. The doubts were creeping in. We had to draw first blood and we did. That was a haymaker of a goal...with 20 to go it felt like we were suffocating them. Full time was playtime with Skiddy. COYS.
Top class performance from Spurs; great for the rest of the league too. Great delivery and finish for both headed goals, but it exposed a weakness in Chelsea that, hopefully, others will exploit. For the second goal, how was Alli allowed an unchallenged header by two defenders and a flapping goalkeeper? Not good for my performance in the prediction leagues, though, as I had it down as a draw.
