Brian only lasted 7 matches. Here he is with the man he replaced and despised shortly after being sacked. He was right about what could happen to Leeds United.
Having watched the movie but having not seen that clip, it's brilliant to watch the real thing haha. EDIT: I enjoy him saying the players were getting on at 32-33!
I have never watched the movie but I was back in England on a business trip from Aus on the day he left the club.
The national Daily Mail are saying all the backroom staff have been sacked including Pennock. Is that really true?
But then says he won't denigrate Clough like that. I do love how much he clearly doesn't approve of Clough but goes to great pains to try and talk himself around it. Clearly before the days of media coaching! Both speak quite awkwardly at times but it's enthralling watching.
I've just watched it for the first time, as I was abroad when it all kicked off. Amazing just how caustic and arrogant Clough came across. He definitely missed the soothing charms of Taylor on that mini-adventure. He was a mug to take him the job and it is easy to believe he was given it to make him look the loud mouthed arse he was, and then get shot in a very public way. Revie was far from perfect but he kicked his arse all around that interview. Brilliant TV by Warren Mitchell and Yorkshire TV.
Leeds had to pay a lot of money to get rid of Clough after just 44 days. No way there was some sort of conspiracy by the Leeds board from the start.
Austin Mitchell I think it was. Clough did come across as a bit arrogant, but he was certainly entertaining.
Matt Dean @mattdeanradio #hcafc have told me an announcement (re: Silva) will be made today. Matters are currently being finalised.
