That is just were we were stood too, I might have spoken to you as I did speak to someone with a City hat on I think. I had a City scarf on. We are going to have tea in town on Thursday and do the full route, can't wait actually. Going to take a picture outside Holy Trinity cos that is where we got married in the days of the market and chip paper everywhere. I was surprised at how emotional I felt and could have really cried but I didn't know if others felt the same.

Just back - absolutely brilliant projections in Victoria Square and on The Deep. The small ads and posters in the "inconvenience store" in Whitefriargate are laugh out loud funny. Another great atmosphere around town and thousands of visitors. A great start to the year.

We went last night and it was all fantastic, we rarely venture into town at night these days but it just shows that if there is a good reason lots of people will go there and make it a much more vibrant place to be.

    Hull now incredibly up itself

BECOMING the UK’s City of Culture has caused everyone in Hull to become a snooty intellectual, it has emerged.

Residents of the northern city are immersing themselves in highbrow literature, classical music and theatre while feeling smug and superior about it.

Teenager Wayne Hayes said: “I used to drive around playing happy hardcore in my modified Nissan Micra, but I’ve started putting on Mahler piano concertos and tutting at people in tracksuits.

“Tonight I’m hanging round the park with my mates but instead of drinking cider until we puke, we’re putting on a challenging interpretation of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Builder Roy Hobbs said: “I was in Wetherspoons for the poetry recital and it was so packed I missed half The Wasteland while I was ordering a bottle of Merlot. The Arts Council really should do something.

“Hopefully it’ll be quieter at the weekend when me and the lads try the Heston Blumenthal tasting menu before going on to the multiplex for the Truffaut retrospective.”

Mum-of-two Donna Sheridan said: “I can’t get the kids off their easels ever since they discovered impressionist painting, so the Playstation 4 was a total waste of money.

“I’ve made a rule that they can have two hours of discussing the plays of David Mamet every night then it’s off to bed.”

Just had a perambulation (sorry, just matching the Daily Mash article) to see the excellent projections. The best ones were in Vic.Sq. and the 15 minute show on the side of the Deep. Also loved the righteous noise in Zebedee's yard! Great start to our year of kultchur.

No, I don't wear colours. Most seem to admit they felt emotional. Mixture of emotions; pride, sadness, reminiscing etc
