Nope, I'm not expecting any of the top six to drop off dramatically so a draw maybe tonight would be ok.

I think tonight's game is interesting but..... just going back to the reverse fixture cheslea won it 2-1 and then utd beat them handily enough even though it was 1-0.

I just have to wonder about spurs and their general style and pace. Erikson and kane lack it and a top side should be bale to control spurs fairly well.

Certainly back then it was a hard time for spurs exiting the CL but equally chelsea got dominated in the first half.

Then there's the whole "record" thing. Footballers shouldn't get distracted but they are only human.....

Really its a bigger test for Chelsea than it is for spurs. If spurs lose then they shrug and say ok well we are close to arsenal. If they win they are 7 points off cheslea. they are in effect right now looking at the title is over for them or they have a long shot by winning.

Chelsea win and suddenly they have won a record number of games in a row and are 8 points clear of 2nd with a clear run in

 

Not bothered if the chavs win. We at least gain a point over borespurs

 

Not because i'm a chelsea fan but i think the advantage is with Chelsea....

The record thing could be playing on their mind but i don't think that will distract them. The key factors for me are:

- Spurs have played 3 games of 7 days. Not just that but they played 1 game down in southampton and their game against watford as 3 days ago whilst Chelsea are more rested up. This is ineivitably going to affect their pressing game

- Vertongen, Walker, Dembele (not sure if fully fit) have had rests. Chelsea have had Pedro and Matic rested

- Spurs can go third with a win so it's high time they bottle that chance

One thing in spurs favour is that i can see this being a horrible physical game and Luiz is a bit banged up but i trust Conte to do the usual counter attacking business

 

It is away though at the same time for you.

In general I think

1. yes you have simply had a really nice bit of fortune with the fixtures. you in effect have a regular weekend to midweek fixture while spurs have played and won more recently than you.

2. Walker is one of their biggest assets and will need marshalling. your 343 will require your LCB and alonso to deal with him. might pin alonso's ears back.

3. I agree spurs are too far back and likely to bottle this one.

4. spurs lack real creativity i nthe middle. I hope they play erikson but i can see them play son who is a ball hog. Wanyama and dier aint great


There is one other thing though... spurs had a right dolly v watford and could sub off rose, kane and alli early.... I think they can give the effort if nothing esle.
