Not sure that three defenders is the right balance for the subs, to be honest.
Janssen offers us something different and I'd certainly have had him there, assuming he's available.

I have a growing realisation that Son and Sissoko are totally different players to Eriksen and Alli. I'm stating the obvious, but both have completely different skill sets and are much more direct (Son in terms of his pace and skill, Sissoko in terms of his pace and strength) and are at their best running at backpedaling defences. Unlike Alli and Eriksen, I wouldn't trust either of them in a tight situation with a split second to make the right decision.

However, I agree that the balance of the bench is much more defensive than the balance of the team out on the pitch, which is weird.

 

It's @remembercolinlee 's birthday and I've correctly predicted the team. We are doomed I tell you.

 

I don't even know if I can bring myself to watch. I have a really bad feeling about this.
But I generally am pessimistic on Spurs so hopefully the boys can prove me wrong!

 

I think it's important that we have players that all suit our system/s but offer different attributes and approaches.
Pochettino adopting a Plan B this season seems to be quite high on our agenda, though it's taking him time to work it out.
We've switched through a variety of formations, but still tried to maintain the same philosophy.
He's definitely emphasised that in his interviews, though he's given very little else away.

I wouldn't say that the bench is much more defensive, but it leaves us lacking if we need to change things drastically.
We'll see if it's the correct decision, I guess. Seems overly cautious, though.

 

just hope we ain't humiliated on my birthday...and if we are I am blaming Sissoko!
