  5. Less worried about the line up - more concerned that we show more maturity when it ramps up and maybe - just maybe - a leader or two emerge!!

    COYS!!!

    And Happy Birthday, RCL!

Got nothing useful to say except that Spurs have to win! A chance to leapfrog Arsenal, and a chance to break Chelsea's attempt at setting a new PL record.

    Win at all cost please!

I never take any notice of those long term "patterns" that keep on being dragged up, which are often no more than a long string of coincidences like "Team A hasn't won at Team B for 60 years". There's lots of reasons for that, and unless there is some mythic cosmic force that connects completely different managers and players there is no reason other than form (and refs!) on the day that a pattern should continue. However, I am concerned when the same set of players seem to fail to do something several times - like step up to the plate on an extremely important match, whilst demonstrating that they have the ability on less important matches. We most certainly have the ability to beat Chelski, let us hope that there is no real pattern that is emerging about not winning the most important games.

Of course we were utterly and completely dominant at their place before they scored in the last match (a fact that has been conveniently forgotten in the subsequent Chelski love in) so we know we can do it. They should also have lost against ManC lets not forget. They are not as good as the pundits are making them out, but then again they are certainly capable of beating us. I would suggest we are slight favourites, providing we don't fall prey to the afforementioned "pattern" but frankly anything could happen!

Oh and one other thing - in common with a few other posters I must also declare that I dislike Chelski far more than Arsenal these days. It may be wrong, but that's just how I feel.

In spite of ending our 'title challenge' and the collective love in for Leicester, I can't imagine there were many fans from other teams who didn't secretly enjoy watching us kick seven bells of **** out of the Chavs last season...

I still love watching it now.

Don't get me wrong it was extremely disappointing to blow a two-goal lead and statistically end our title hopes (which we all know was over the game before against WBA), plus Dembele getting a suspension was a kick in the bollocks but smashing lumps out of such a dirty side was bliss.
For so long Spurs were seen as softies who'd get bullied on the pitch but that's no longer the case, we're now probably the most brute force side in the league and personally I bloody love it. I occasionally read opposition sides' match threads and frequently see comments like "dirty bastard" associated with a Spurs player (mainly Rose, Vertonghen and Dier while Lamela & Alli get mentions) and it just brings a smile to my face, because I know they probably have a point but at the same time I also know that while we may have a dark side, we're also a bloody good footballing side when we want to be and so it's a good little mix.

Spurs have always been seen as a soft side - just ask Billy Bremner...

I'd go with Son. As much as Sissoko's improved, I don't think his crossing is good enough to pick out players against Chelsea and I think Son has the better chance of making something happen with his movement inside. Walker will be fresh after his suspension so I'm not overly concerned about having the extra workrate down that side. I'd have Eriksen on the right and Son on the left, not that they'll stay in position for long.

I'd have Winks over Dier too, Dier has mistakes in him and hasn't played much in midfield this season, whilst Winks' defensive work is underrated and he's better with the ball.

That's what I'd like but I think we'll go 3 at the back:
    Lloris
    Dier, Toby, Jan
    Walker, Eriksen, Wanyama, Winks, Rose
    Alli, Kane

Said before the last game against them- 3 at the back won't work against them. Someone tried it and got battered.

Prefer to play 4-4-2, in order to keep their FB's from pressing forward.

I'd even consider Janssen with Kane up front to cause their defence problems.

    Back 5 pick themselves.
    Middle of
    Eriksen, Wanyama, Dele, Sissoku

I think this team is definitely our best 11 players. Whether it's our best team remains to be seen. It's certainly on paper a hard working powerful side. Only thing it lacks is pure pace.
Christ I hope we win this. Nerves really starting to kick in now!

    Very pessimistic.

We will go all 'Spursy' tonight. Too many 'pundits' and other teams relying on us and reckoning we got a chance.

Nope. No chance. We never take our chances and here we could go above Woolwich and City. Won't happen.
